ATM 07-05-2005 11:42 AM
On Monday I bought-

Pink Floyd-Pink Days and the Fat Old Sun (DSotM live in '73 and Careful with that Axe Eugene and Cymbaline live in '71)
Pink Floyd-Rarities and Archives vol. 2 Radio Sessions
Spirit-12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus (thanks to lunch for the review that made me get this)
The Best of Canned Heat
The Best of Booker T and the MGs
The Yardbirds-Five Live Yardbirds
So I'm not the only one that is on a Floyd kick after Live 8 ;)

Broken Arrow 07-05-2005 11:53 AM
Where'd you find that?
At this flea market thing.

The guy who has the CDs kicked out of high school and became a roadie for a band called Chilliwack then moved on to Lighthouse then on to Steppenwolf when they were known as Sparrow, in the mid 60's. Then he moved from L.A. to Toronto and started running a record shop and started be a photographer for bands that played there. He said he saw Jimi Hendrix live the time he got arrested for heroin in toronto he also went to the festival with the Doors and John Lennon. He's pretty interesting to talk to.

Pink Days and the Fat Old Sun was imported from Europe though but he knocked of $5 on both of those Archive Pink Floyd things. And the 12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus didnt have a price tag so he gave it to me for ten because he thought it was such an excellent album.

ATM 07-05-2005 11:54 AM

Oh yea, I found out yesterday that my uncle met John Lennon and Elton John

my friends uncle followed bob dylan around in a van from concert to concert. other friends' mom saw ( and talked briefly to) at least some of pink floyd without realising it until afterwars. My dad was the co-manager of rush.

ATM 07-05-2005 12:29 PM

My uncle met Lennon and Elton John because he took tickets for a boat on Marthas Vineyard.

MBS 07-05-2005 12:31 PM

Yeah, it'd be pretty sweet if you actually got to meet John Lennon.

Although he died before most of us were even born. :upset:

I don't think Robert Plant sounds that great anymore. I'd do anything to go see the Allmans over him.

I'm still not postitive that I'm going to to ABB because my dad wil be away so I'm trying to get my mom to take me.

I'm looking forward to Hawk Rocks though.

magicbus 07-05-2005 01:20 PM

I don't think I'm going to ABB because none of my friends like them, and my dad might not want to buy more tickets. Me and him are going to Buddy Guy in one week.

Woodstock 07-05-2005 01:22 PM

ABB tomorrow for me. :)

Glitterati 07-05-2005 01:25 PM

The Yardbirds? Wicked. I've been meaning to get into them.

Walrus Gumboot 07-05-2005 01:35 PM

I'm not seing them until the last day of summer vacation, and they aren't with moe. But they are at a state fair in VT which makes up for it :D

camping at a state fair +++

Glitterati 07-05-2005 01:45 PM

My socials teacher from this previous year found out she was going to Mellencamp/Fogerty by winning tickets on the radio. She told us on the last day of school.

I'm still insanely jealous of anyone who's seeing McCartney

Elton John was on TV last night but he sounded horrible.

ATM 07-05-2005 02:20 PM

I know that, but why were you so angry that it was at Nissan?

where we are we'd have to leave really early, and then we'd get home really late and my mom has to work while I sit at home playing video games, masturbating, and eating cheetos.

ATM 07-05-2005 02:25 PM

Ah, that sucks.

hell you're in my area. Children of Bodom played at the 9:30 Club on my friend's birthday and we're both huge fans. Then we didn't go.
It's official I'm going to John Fogerty/Mellencamp tonight. Leaving at 6:30 :D
I've said this before but I Fogerty with CCR is most of what I've heard and is better. Fogerty I hope will play some Crredence, but when I've seen him, he does Travelim Band, as opposed to some of their other, better (IMO) hits

Glitterati 07-05-2005 02:29 PM
