I'm very pleased to hear that the artwork is so awesome, especially considering the horrific cover.. Heheh.. Makes me more excited about actually buying this cd

kurrpt 05-02-2006 08:49 AM

it could be worse...

it could be like Jay-Z's, the Black Album

taylormemer 05-02-2006 08:52 AM
I love getting the cd in your hands, for me I just have to buy an album if I like it enough. As for the artwork to me the lenses are a bit over the top, to be honest I would have much rathered the inclusion of lyrics.
Tool never place their lyrics within the CD. That my friend is for you to find out for yourself. And I would have to disagree with you about the lenses. I think they greatly add to the experiance.

clearvision 05-02-2006 08:59 AM

Or you can just look on toolshed when maynard sends them to Kabir :-/

kurrpt 05-02-2006 09:01 AM

I basically have 85% of the vocals memorized just from listening to the album 50+ times already.

I can already see me playing through a copy of a CD. I actually went through 3 ænimas

Reactor158 05-02-2006 09:02 AM

I saw the cover artwork of 10,000 Days, and I can't help but think that the face on the cover looks just like one of those representations of the Trinity. You know, the father, son, and the holy ghost?

The only problem with this is that I could have sworn that I heard that Maynard is opposed to all forms of organized religion.

What's up with that??

kurrpt 05-02-2006 09:05 AM

his dad was a pastor....

that picture on the front is an old work of alex greys. Your interpretation is definitely interesting considering i could argue both sides of the arguement.

I will say you can easily be spiritual, without being religious. I tend to see spirituality as a universal thing, where as religion just separates people

RideTheSpiral 05-02-2006 09:06 AM

Does he say fuck Rupert Murdoch instead of L.Ron Hubbard on the Aenema live?

taylormemer 05-02-2006 09:08 AM
Or you can just look on toolshed when maynard sends them to Kabir :-/
Eh, figuring them out just ads to the fun I find. Though there have been times where I have needed to look up a few sets of lyrics simply because if some sections of songs being very hard to decifer.

kurrpt 05-02-2006 09:08 AM

what live version are you referring to?

RideTheSpiral 05-02-2006 09:09 AM

So I'll be buying this new CD of theirs today, since it's only "$9.99" for today only.

I take it many of you fanboys will be getting it too, right??

kurrpt 05-02-2006 09:52 AM

CaptainWaits 05-02-2006 09:55 AM

Well, I live in Canada......and it's just at my best CD store, A&B Sound, for $9.99.

kurrpt 05-02-2006 09:56 AM

thats cheap as fuk

taylormemer 05-02-2006 10:03 AM

Gee that is cheap. Canada's exchange rate pretty decent. That's still only about $11.80 in my dollars.

PIGS(1 different one) 05-02-2006 10:05 AM

Just came back from buying it, and the Packaging alone was worth the 10 bucks I spent on the cd.

kurrpt 05-02-2006 10:06 AM

im going to get it NOW

Futuro 05-02-2006 10:14 AM

Haha man this thing is killer. Best album package ever!

BTW I ended up waking up at 11:30 (I have no school or real job besides drumming :-/ )

Mr Benners 05-02-2006 10:49 AM

Got the CD yesterday (UK FTW), firstly the packaging was awesome - nothing better than crazy eye tricks. After putting on the CD the first thing I thought was

"WHY THE FUCK ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ALBUM"

This is one fantastic album. It takes the old Tool and blends it with a new maturity and sense of musicality. Vicarious and Jambi rock hard, WFM/10,000 days are just awe inspiring, The Pot reminds me of the Undertow days in a way, Rosetta Stoned reminds me in part of Fantomas (fast speaking at the beginning) and is an awesome song too, Intension is pretty relaxed listening and Right in two is another powerful song. Seriously, I don't get some of the hate floating around for this cd (the 10,000days.com boards mainly when the leak came out). This CD is just as deep as Lateralus, but in a different way. Listen a bit closer to the lyrics and maybe you'll see what I mean. If they had come back with an album that sounded just like Lateralus, people would have bitched and moaned. As it is, they've progressed once again, and people are still bitching and moaning.

I'm going to go and enjoy this CD again now, I hope you all do too :)

kurrpt 05-02-2006 10:56 AM

damn, this artwork + lens is amazing!

Mr Benners 05-02-2006 11:00 AM
damn, this artwork + lens is amazing!
Haha when I got it yesterday I was sat in Starbucks looking through the lenses. I think people were giving me funny looks :p

ThePatient 05-02-2006 11:03 AM

I was sitting at a red light looking through the lenses at the pictures and people were starting at me...

I thought this album had a sense of maturity in it too. I can't really put my finger on an exact reason though.

kurrpt 05-02-2006 11:06 AM

i just got done looking through all the photos. Most of them are top notch. It reminds me of those magic eyes
