There are certain programs that will do that for you, Jom. I'm not sure on which ones, but I know they exist.
Cain, how many Bourne books are out?
Four. The ones written by Robert Ludlum (who started the series and are the only ones worth reading, IMO) are:

The Bourne Identity
The Bourne Supremacy
The Bourne Ultimatum

And there's a fourth written by some other dumb author, which has that tricky tag "based on a character by Robert Ludlum"...lame. It's called "The Bourne Legacy." I haven't read it, but I'm not planning to. It seems silly, since it's written by someone else.

Kingofdudes 10-08-2005 08:03 PM

Thanks. Im gonna have to pick up Ultimatum sometime this week since I will probably finish Supremacy by Wednesday.

How are you liking Supremacy? I'm having an even harder time making the transition from the movie to the book on that one. The two versions are just incredibly different. It took me three attempts before I was able to get through the Bourne Identity, and the Bourne Supremacy is even harder. I mean, it takes place in Kowloon, China. In the movie it's still all these European locales, and the CIA is the enemy, not Carlos.

I havent seen the movies yet, but I wasnt expecting Supremacy to be anything like this based off of the commercials. Im guessing from what I have heard that the directors for the films basically just took the Bourne character and put him in a different situation.

Are there gonna be any plans to make Ultimatum into a movie?

The first two Bourne movies were both critically acclaimed and they also did fairly well at the box office, so I wouldn't be surprised. I do believe I read somewhere that Matt Damon was under a contractual obligation to make the final movie. I'm curious as to what they'll do though: the books were always about Bourne vs. Carlos, with the CIA as a second antagonist. The books led up to a final showdown between Bourne and Carlos while criticizing the CIA's handling of human lives. The movies criticize the CIA enormously, and are good spy capers, but they don't lead up to a final showdown in my mind. I'd be interested to see what they do, though: they've done a remarkably good job of placing Bourne in situations that are relevant to today's politics (the Bourne in the books is a product of Vietnam, whereas the movie Bourne is a product of post-Cold War fallout).

I would've gotten tickets to the EXACT SAME SHOW, if it weren't for it being 18+ only.

Shattered_Future 10-08-2005 08:31 PM

15, can't drive, parents already know its 18+ only, plus none of my other friends look 18. And I don't really want to go alone...

Bah, I'll just have to hear all the good details from you. :p

Isn't Into Eternity supporting them as well on that date? Another great band that I'm going to miss. :upset:

I'm not sure, I haven't heard them. Frankly I was excited enough to see that Nevermore was joining the tour in time to see them. I hope Nevermore plays a few tunes from Enemies of Reality. The title track in particular. :)

Shattered_Future 10-08-2005 08:46 PM

Yes, 2 of the most original bands today playing together...should be one hell of a show.

EOR is a VERY underrated album, I believe. Everybody says it's Nevermore's worst...I like it a lot though.

I hear that too. I think it's bogus though - it's a really amazing album. Much darker and heavier compared to their other stuff.

I think if it had way better production like the new one it would be alot better. It also has like no catchy factor to it. I love the title track and a few songs off of it but I can't listen to it all the way through even though the riffs are godly. TGE and DNB are two of the best metal albums ever in my opinion.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-08-2005 11:41 PM

I would like to read Ultimatum before I see the movie, because I've been rather impressed by both movies.

had our first jam session with some people from school on friday after school we played too many puppies but the drummer dident show up. so i had to play my friends parts on the guitar while he played drums....he even did both at once but dident last long. it was alot of fun actually next time we gonna play jerry was a racecar driver (we only play primus songs cause the bassist doesent want to play "mindless metal bass"

Kurtz 10-08-2005 11:45 PM

How does the Bourne novels compare to the movies? I'm interested. But then again I don't know if it's one of those series where it's better to read the books and then watch the movies.

Does anybody else think those new Slim Jim commercials are totally fucking funny? I mean, just the goofs from those amateur skaters/bikers/whatever cracks me up.

Tell him to play some Symphony X, Sea of Lies in particular. Or any good death metal like Cryptopsy or Necrophagist.
