Jaundice 01-20-2010 02:28 PM

Angmar 01-20-2010 02:28 PM

Imaginary Sonicscape

Jaundice 01-20-2010 02:31 PM

its decided, then.

Stevie 01-20-2010 02:53 PM

i know marduk isn't too popular a band around here and for good reason, it's usually boring blasting noise...but those of you who haven't, check out opus nocturne. it might be the only good thing marduk did but it's ****ing great

example:

masscows 01-20-2010 02:57 PM

opus nocturne is excellent

RouteOne 01-20-2010 03:17 PM

Some of Marduk's stuff is of the better material among the more "mainstream" BM bands.

witchxrapist 01-20-2010 03:30 PM

Marduk is the grimmest most blasheming band everrrrr.

RouteOne 01-20-2010 03:38 PM

Its true, me mum said so.

Stormrider 01-20-2010 04:27 PM

two rather unlikely bands to listen to considering you don't listen to too much black metal hehe

Stormrider 01-20-2010 04:29 PM
izzat jammie?
what made you think that?

TimJim 01-20-2010 04:29 PM
perdition city > svidd neger > bergtatt > shadows of the sun > blood inside > kbledessanger > nattens > marriage of heaven and hell

the metamorphosis EP is their best though.
this
bergtatt > svidd neger > nattens madrigal > peridition city > kbledessanger> shadows of the sun > blood inside > marriage of heaven and hell

tbh
I agree with the first three, but then it's probably

Blood Inside > Shadows of the Sun > Perdition City > Kveslsklskg > wtv

This is quite different from the other stuff I've heard from Murduk. I like this.

Quick glance, the age and the fact that it was Canada.

oh haha

I'm turning 18 in may.

Aaron 01-20-2010 05:08 PM

I really like the William Blake stuff. Plate-1 or whatever is the first track is so cool and quirkly.

Brew 01-20-2010 05:32 PM

Marduk, Anaal Nathrakh, Artisian and Zebadiah Crowe are touring the UK soon and I can't afford to get upto Bristol to see them. Sucks.
two rather unlikely bands to listen to considering you don't listen to too much black metal hehe
i'm really picky when it comes to black metal.

Crysis 01-20-2010 07:44 PM

What's the best "The Ruins of Beverast" release?

rasputin 01-20-2010 08:03 PM

i haven't heard them all properly yet, but i'd still suggest getting all 3

masscows 01-20-2010 08:12 PM

Foulest Semen of a Sheltered Elite is probably my favorite, it's definitely his most cohesive and well thought-out album. Rain upon the Impure is great but the songs are really indistinct from one another since they all just sort of randomly go through intense blasting parts and plodding, epic parts with overblown choirs for 10+ minutes. Unlock the Shrine is really solid, no more no less.

I suggest you listen to that album a little more. The songs are VERY distinct from one another.

masscows 01-20-2010 08:22 PM

well meh, I find it hard to sit through a full album if it's 40 minutes long but 80 minutes is just plain tiresome.

I think I only ever made it all the way through it while I was playing video games so maybe a more proper listen is in order.

Yeah I saw them on your blog, downloaded Rain Upon The Impure initially. I'll give the others a listen later.

Ah, I see.

I've listened to that album in its entirety so many times. It's one of those albums where when I'm in the mood, the the 80 minutes go by so smoothly. There's not one time I get impatient. Definitely re-listen to it, this time while not playing video games :p

masscows 01-20-2010 08:36 PM

Yeah, might do that later tonight.

bazzim 01-20-2010 09:05 PM

Ajna just confirmed that Negative Plane are about to record their second full-length, entitled Stained Glass Revelations. One of my most anticipated albums of this year, indeed.

Txus 01-20-2010 09:07 PM

The Negative Plane debut was pretty good. Thats some good news.
