I honestly don't really know, other than that I don't want to hurt the people around me who would care. I've talked it all over for a long time with a friend who studies philosophy and we reached the conclusion that my initial thesis can't be universally valid because for most people, merely existing is more important than the mitigation of suffering. Seeing that the other way around must be an anomaly then. Plus, we can't know what death will lead to. Idk, at some point I got stuck on the pointlessness of trying to apply logic to the universe and stopped trying to understand things and draw conclusions from them.

Now I just try to a bit of a philanthropist. Existence is shitty enough as it is without everyone being a dick to each other. From my point of view, we all just have to try to get through this life together as painlessly as possible. Also, I want to travel more and I really want to spend a vacation tramping sometime. Could be that I'm just slowly switching my obsession for nothingness with an obsession for asceticism.

This sounds like some sort of progress.
