You'll never be able to make believe otherwise now...

The Brad 10-25-2006 10:42 PM

Damnit. :(
I wish I still had the recording of me doing the trailer for Leon the Professional.
I had such a good movie trailer voice.

This is pretty close to how I sound normally:

I don't think it's as annoying as the N64 voice was.

Efrim 10-25-2006 10:43 PM

Do more movies, I find them amusing.

Now go! Do my bidding!

The Brad 10-25-2006 10:45 PM

I'll read you Cinderella... if I can find my poetry book.

Efrim 10-25-2006 10:46 PM

Hahaha, do it!

One Groovin Clown 10-25-2006 11:27 PM

A mix with your kitty and a mentos commercial.

The Brad 10-25-2006 11:28 PM

No, pale force is fine, my videos got horrible.

HELLonWHEELS 10-25-2006 11:35 PM

What kind of bass was that in the second video?

The Brad 10-25-2006 11:36 PM

It's just a driftwood P, you can have it for $50 if you want. :p
whats up?
Just researching truss rods and the correct way to install them.

Also plotting how I am going to put together a 7 piece laminate neck.

Was thinking of the following

B = Bubinga
W = Wenge

|B|W|B|W|B|W|B|

I have the wenge pretty much sorted and the bubinga is still in rough cut form so it needs some finishing.

This time I am going to do it right and not rush it whatsoever.

Going to do two pieces at a time with the gluing and give them each 24 hours to dry and make damn sure they are glued up right.

HELLonWHEELS 10-26-2006 01:05 AM

I remeber reading someplace that wenge is nice un-finished and i don't really know about bubingia. How are you going to finish it?

I am wanting to go the oil route, i.e. a Danish Oil finish which is pretty much tung oil with one or two other types mixed in for good measure.

So that would be good for the body, headstock and maybe the fingerboard.
But for the neck I will wait as see how the oil finish shapes up and then decide whether I will use it on the neck or give it a light oiling with some burmesse teak oil and then let the oil from my hand maintain it.

I like the unfinished warwick necks, hence that idea.

HELLonWHEELS 10-26-2006 01:17 AM

Are you sure your neck will be smooth enough to be unfinished? I assuming you will give it at least some kind of high polished buffing job or something like that.

You assume correct, I will be sanding that think with op to 1200 grit sandpaper and higher if I can find it.

Halogens or HID conversion?
Good morning
howdy.. and it afternoon here :p

i was thinking another thing also, and i assume you can help as you know a lot about everything :smoke:

ok, so i've got my 450watt head, and a 500w 2x10, if i was to buy a 2x12 as well. would i be better off (as in, louder, better sound quality) if i just ran the 2x12 without keeping the 2x10 in the loop and underpowering them both?

To quote edge, "Watts does NOT equal volume".

I got that drilled into me as a result of his posts.

Basically you need to look at the surface area of the speakers.

In your case 2X12 is going to have more surface area than a 2X10, thus meaning it will move more air and might seem "louder"

Just remeber that in order to double ones volume you need to increase the original figure by 3dB, in simple terms times it by 10.

So in order to double the potential "volume" of a 100W's you will need 1000W's becasue the equation is exponential, i.e. squared.

Just give me the exact specs of you amp and both the cabs. Wattage and their ohm rating would be useful.

funkyhoney 10-26-2006 01:54 AM

head is 450watts at 1x4 ohms or 2x8 ohms

the cabs handeling is 500w and impedance is 8ohms

i don't have another cab yet, but lets say i get a 500w 8ohm 2x12

does this mean my current setup 450 head into 8 ohm cab would only be using half of the maximum wattage?
and if i got another 8ohm cab it would be using the whole 450watts?

basically i just want to know if i get another cab if it will make me louder and handle alright or will be pushing the head to far.

Okay, that makes no sense to me.

Which head are you running and do you mean that it is putting out 450W @ 4 Ohms?

OR

Is it putting out 450W @ 8 Ohms?
