The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - s/t

Mt Fuji Doomjazz - Doomjazz Future Corpses

Both bands have the same line up Mt Fuji is more drone/noise. The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble is a lot better imo. If you like the self titled get Mutations EP.
Nepenthe 03-22-2010 01:45 PM

listening to this band conifer for the first time, their self titled. pretty ****in awesome, post metal with a 70s prog influence.

Ventriloquist 03-22-2010 02:44 PM

Have you listened to Kilimanjaro Darkjazz yet? and holy **** I need to check that band out since I love post metal and jizz when I listen to 70s prog.

Nepenthe 03-22-2010 10:10 PM

nope was out all weekend and theyre a nighttime kinda listen so ill be giving them and mt fuji spins this week

conifer is def worth checking out. ive got their self titled and crown fire. apparently they broke up last year though so that sucks.

Ventriloquist 03-24-2010 05:35 PM

Holy **** Mt. Zion were amazing. Might be the best show I've ever been to. Efrim was great at communicating with the audience the whole gig. They played flawlessly covering most of their albums. Supporting band Kogumaza (which is a local band) were great too. Too bad they don't have their stuff online other than myspace, bought their 7" but can't listen to it till I get back home. Also bought He Left Us... and the new Mt. Zion on vinyl <3

Nepenthe 03-24-2010 07:30 PM

wow the maudlin album that came out last year is really really good

ahh yes its raining, sgonna be the perfect night to chainsmoke through a pack of cigs and listen to kilimanjaro and mt fuji for the first time

Ventriloquist 03-24-2010 09:04 PM

every maudlin album is gold

Nepenthe 03-24-2010 10:57 PM

kilimanjaro darkjazz ensemble was awesome. reminded me of perdition city.

Nepenthe 03-24-2010 11:32 PM

wasnt as jazzy as i was expecting, but it was still great. are their later albums heavier on the jazz side?

Ventriloquist 03-25-2010 06:41 AM

Not really, I think they are incorporating enough jazzy stuff for that type of music. Check Mutations EP for more upbeat stuff. New album (Here Be Dragons) is also great, has a bit more depressive melodies compared to the previous albums. But it also has vocals which makes their music sound a lot better.

Txus 03-25-2010 07:30 AM

Kilimanjaro <3

TimJim 03-25-2010 02:38 PM

cant wait for red sparowes next week

Bleekill 03-26-2010 02:36 PM

I'm really loving the new Across Tundras but I can't find it anywhere other than steaming on myspace/last.fm :(

Nepenthe 03-26-2010 02:40 PM

will have to check that out. western sky ride wasnt near as good as dark songs of the prairie though. was still good.

witchxrapist 03-26-2010 02:41 PM

Me and my one friend ate 2 bottles of Robitussin gel tabs each on Tuesday, and we listened to The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place, and Enjoy Eternal Bliss all the way through, 'twas a very bottom of the ocean experience.

Nepenthe 03-26-2010 02:41 PM

why would you waste a perfectly good robotrip on explosions in the sky

Bleekill 03-26-2010 02:43 PM

Yeah I'm not super familiar with them but I have listened to some of their older stuff. I'm definitely going to get into them with this album though.

witchxrapist 03-26-2010 02:44 PM
why would you waste a perfectly good robotrip on explosions in the sky
