Anyone know if Ibanez GAX types are any good for the coin?
I had a GAX. Do NOT buy one. Terrible wiring job, worst heel I've ever seen. Cheap 1200q230212908213x5 piece body. AX=fine. GAX=puke. |

Anyone got pics of the heel, or the other finishes? How's maple in sound character? EMGs anyone? I mean, Kirk has his in maple, I think Hetfield does too. I'm partial to Hetfield and Mustaines tone, dunno if that's maple.
the heel is like an AANJ Hetfield uses mahogany, some times alder Kirk, the same, just usually alder hetfield's tone is basically his mahogany, and so is mustaines Amerigo- yah, they are |
man ever since that guy posted his 72 thinline i've been wanting one so bad it hurts. It'll definatley be my next guitar. I just don't like the whole 21 fret ordeal.
Cool.
eventually, i'm going t0 build a Warm0th tele that looks like this
I'm doing the same thing over the summer (hopefully) based on the Flathead Telecaster, but with a maple body and Swineshead pick-ups. I will probably opt for a maple fretboard as well rather than ebony like on the Flathead. |
I have my GRX40 still, and can definitely reccomend it as a killer sub $200 guitar. Pickups are utter crap, but it plays quite nicely after a good setup. No electrical problems, tuners and bridge are solid.

Ohhhh, that sounds cool.
<snob>But mines better</snob> |

Defo needs a maple board.
And more EMG's. |

Phht, I could have bought one of them for about £200 a couple years ago, thats the clearence price.

:thumb:
I would so replace those pickups with a Bareknuckle Nailbomb and a Fernandes Sustainer. And build a fuzz pedal and an X-Y controller and a killswitch into my guitar. |
Baby I wanna stick my meat between them buns.
I mean... Godin looks sweet! How tall are the frets? |

 "Kick arse Godin INNIT!" 7-strings were supposedly originally jazz instruments. How come I've never seen a hollow 7? |
Ugh, I miss playing live, I've not done it for a month or two now.
Hell I'd settle for a band practice. I'll be damned if my last gig with this band was an experiment in noise infront of a leaving crowd. Mutant, some idiot decided it was more important to "chug". |
I was planning on some Nailbombs, although I'm asking Warmoth if they could possibly route a middle humbucker rather than neck.
Why, tonal reasons? |
Baby I wanna stick my meat between them buns.
I mean... Godin looks sweet! How tall are the frets?
Bump for OT the knowledgable man about Godins. Must agree though, live was fun, I've only done it once, and ****ed up, if I got another chance though, it'd RULE. My band existed for 45 minutes before our first gig, we only played through the song once, and ****ed up numerous times. It was a train wreck live. My tubes just didn't wanna start warming up until halfway through the song, then my volume was above everyone elses and it drowned them out and I ****ed up hard. |
Why, tonal reasons?
Yeah, I used to have one of those LTD Steph Carpenter guitars, with a SHH combination. The guitar was a bit crap, but the middle humbucker sound was great, and I prefer it to a neck humbucker sound now. |
So, whats you gices favorite song off the new tool album?
|
*Doesn't like Tool*
*Hides* *Asks how big Godin's frets are again. |
You are allowed to not like Tool.
The Godin frets are jumbo if I remember correctly. |
Kthx.
I may just order one tomorrow. They look like the ****. In a good way. |
Yeah, they are good.
Some need setups. Some. |
Not a clue fretwise, been over a year since ive played one.
I got hxc and jumped into the crowd at possibly the best gig I've ever played, was unreal that night. it was part of a battle of the bands and without sounding cocky, we thought we'd won. When the votes were ebing calculated the crowd was chanting our name. Sad part, it was organised reet ****, hand votes (c'mon, packed club how the **** do you count hands?) and since many were under 16 they left before us and another band went on (we took the headline last slot) so we were left with half the audience. But srsly, that didn't matter, we won inside due to the fact they were chanting for us and it was, the best gig we'd all played. Bar one song, mainly as I couldn't be arsed lugging my rack down there and my other guitariast his pedalboard. Should have seen my guitar afterwards, used the "gutted" LP,1st string broken and other strings were unwound at the bridge, it was covered in sweat at the top half and beer at the bottom and the pickup wire had ripped from the jack socket. |
oh man sounds well jackson
yay for britain, I lub you gice |
