Pink Floyd albums not done on Sputnik:

More:The Soundtrack To The Motion Picture
Ummagumma
Obscured By Clouds
A Momentary Lapse Of Reason

Compilations not included.

I'm considering re-reviewing DSOTM and Animals.
I'll probably review Ummagumma soon. I plan on buying it tonight.

And A Saucerful Of Secrets is a pretty good album. I reviewed it on Sputnik. I like it mostly because Wright's work on it.

Ummagumma is great, one of favorites. I think you'll like it. And that's the reason I like Saucerful of Secrets, Wright is great on that album. :thumb:

I just bought Echoes:The Best of Pink Floyd. I was gunna by Mars Volta-Frances the Mute aswell but it was sold out

SomethingfromHolland 02-27-2005 09:58 AM

Ummagumma indeed is great, only the studio album is very experimental and although I like it, I think it's not quite accesible for the most people. The live album is one of my favourite floyd albums.

I agree, the studio album isn't my favorite Floyd cd, but I still enjoy it. I absolutely love the live album though, some great songs on there.

No it was the last song Syd did with them they helped him work on Barrett. ;)

magicbus 02-27-2005 04:23 PM
Yea I didn't realize they were two tracks. Number 2 rocks hard.
It starts off nice and soft, then builds up to the second track.

Distant Echoes 02-27-2005 04:40 PM

I actually might be stoppin by a music store with Vinyl Records. I might actually pick up some classic floyd ones if they have em, since this oportunity never comes by often.

DeusExMachina 02-27-2005 04:47 PM

I need to get OBC and ummagumma... I'll pick them up next time I'm at a decent record store. Which is never, because I live in suburbia.

Yea it is, OBC is great too. You have not heard Saucerful until you hear Ummagumma.

I bought Live at Pompeii. It was awesome. You enjoy more Floyd when you know where all the strange sounds are comming from (ie A Saucerful of Secrets).

I'm pumped. Need more Floyd.

Well the mainstream one is Roger after Pink Floyd broke up, but a bootleg of it surfaces once in a while in rare cd stores and ebay.

You know I was listening to The Nile Song, and well if Korn felt a huge need to cover a Floyd song I think they might have been able to do a good cover of it, but only if they had to, none would be better.

You know just one more thing on that I was just listening to it (yea I found a bootleg cd of it at a used cd store) and I never realized before but Nick Mason owns on Saucerful of Secrets, more then usual, I think thats his best work.

I was noticing that earlier today as well.

Yea I'm used to the drumming pace he used during Ummagumma, so this was really impressive for me. You know I heard sombody complaining about the track listing and said they wished they had a dvd of their latter works. While that would be nice I'm glad they did their earlier work. They are such good jam songs.

lunch998 02-27-2005 08:13 PM

Good point.
