lol vocals rarely change my appreciation for the music except for crappy power metal and emo vocals
i know you're a vocalist for your band, so you probably appreciate vocals more and the criteria for bands you like probably relies more heavily on vocals than for me.

to be honest, I rarely hear a metal or hardcore band who's vocals I dislike or that bother me. I generally pay much more attention to the music and judge the band based on that. I'm all about teh riffz
