Funeral for a Friend is amazing. Their bassist looks like he belongs in an 80s hair metal band, haha.

Coheed is really good, too. They're in the mainstream now, but I still listen to them. If it sounds good and I enjoy it, then why not? I hate kids who are like "dude, they used to be good, then they went into the mainstream. Now I hate them." I couldn't agree more...for example i hang out with alot of street punk kids..For example my friend chris judges people COMPLETELY on what music they listen to or like...it gets on my nerves alot, To top it off he used to listen to rap and "emo".

The really sad thing is that people are so fast to label themselves. I mean some people could have been photocopied right out of the Big Book O' Stereotypes. I walked past a guy in a corridor the other day. I could see straightened hair, a mesh baseball cap, a lipring, a look of petulant misery, a bandana tied round the arm and various other little signs. I thought to myself 'I bet he has a tattoo of a hollow star'. As he walked past, there it was on the back of his arm.

The kind of music you like doesn't reflect how good of a bassist you are. How you play does.

Not getting it anymore. I liked the bass, but there were too many things I was iffy about.

For one, the whole "being limited to one pickup" thing really irked me.

I don't like the fact that it's mianly a slap/funk bass. I mean, I like that music, but I can get a very similar tone with my J Bass.

The pickguard just ruins the bass. That pickguard is like an eyesore to the bass.

I was thinking about a Spector, but it was too expensive. I'm just concentrating on amps/heads/effects now, a new bass comes later (or maybe even just a modded J).

It deos and deosn't, influences can make the way you play..for example i use a steve harris-ish fingerstyle...And i <3 Maiden.

Yeah man, it's pretty disgusting. I know certain people label others, but others, as you said, label themselves and try to fit some mold as if they'll be complete in life.

Off topic, I have a question. I recently found the strings that were on my GSR200 when I bought. So I put em on my bros squier and they have an AWESOME sound, kind on bright with excellent slap sound. I have no ide what brand they are tho. They have red silk windings on both ends, and near the ball end the silk is all piled up, rather than looking like a cork screw. The end of the string (not ball end) is red with a cork-screw like spiral under the silk. Any ideas what brand these are?

Steve Harris...God of the A string frets 3,5, and 7.
