That's not really a series though. It's a weekly summary of what's gone in that week pertaining to R&M. Maybe instead of people creating their own series, they could just write FAs?
It's probably a combination of the fame associated with having your own series, and the waiting list for the official FA's that makes people want to take matters into their own hands.

These series are well written and helpful, I dont see why they would be outlawed especially now we finally got some underground metal ones. NJMetalMeister's is awesome, introduced me to many high quality obscure bands. Same with Freezing Moon who has uploaded many albums including the incredible THORNS s/t. the2stranger is making a decent effort (solefald thread) too.

/starves for underground metal :D

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-12-2005 05:00 PM

It's been on their site for a while Chris. They're gonna be in Portland on Oct. 18th, and I'm dying to go. :D

Riva 08-12-2005 05:46 PM

Jake, yeah, I have your file still. Hehe...

On the subject of series', it's just becoming a bit silly now, that we have at least 10 distinct series threads. I think I actually had a big hand in this trend too, with my "MNM" and my "DIY: Good Threads" threads.

Basically, I'm not that wrathful, unless someone infringes on the bounds of FAs, which people have patiently waited in queue to do.

If you want to do a write-up, just talk to Med and ask him if it is already covered by an FA. If it is, you can still make the thread, just keep it succinct, to avoid trampling someone's toes.
So I just got back from Boston, which I really thought was a great city. I'm seriously considering going to BU now.
You were in Boston? wpah, maybe I saw you.

I also have a few buddies at BU. I think they might be gone by the time you go there (if you go there, that is).

Also, Med, Chicago is better than New York

I thought my ELO thread was pretty good.

It's the only one I'll ever do, even though I put a #1 at the end.

Today was awesome. We left early for Kennywood park, but it was too hot, so we left in the afternoon, planning to cool off. However, my entire family got sick from the heat except me. I've always had a strong ability to resist temperature.

Anyway, around 7 PM, I went back to the park myself since I'm leaving for college soon, and I wanted to live it up with everything my hometown can offer.

For some reason, being by myself really let me do what I wanted to. I got on most of the rides, but the two best were The Exterminator and The Pirate.

The Exterminator is a coaster completely enclosed in a building. It's a steel wild mouse coaster that simulates a power plant taken over by giant rats. Since they won't let you ride solo, I got partnered up with other small groups, and I shamelessly over-acted. Much to the delight of my ridemates.

"Don't eat me, giant rat! Eat this one!" (pointing to the person next to me)
"We're all gonna diiiee!"
"OW!" (in response to the animatronic "exterminators" firing on the giant rats)

I then proceeded to do the same on The Pirate, which is a swinging ship ride that looks like a pirate ship. At the top of each arc, I would try to get the passengers into a screaming contest. With all my vocal training, I had the edge. I was able to yell and shout my lungs out with very little effort on my throat's part. Whenever one side wasn't responding, I kept taunting and goading them to do better. And if they still hadn't responded by the time the ride was over, I'd just shake my head and yell at all of them, "You're all such a disappointment."

It's a shame none of the young ladies there were single, because they all thought I was a scream. The biggest reaction I got was on my last ride when I broke into a maniacal falsetto cackle complete with overly dramatic gestures and facial expression. The women were practically falling over each other laughing their asses off. Interestingly, my cackling got everyone else on the ride into it, and people started screaming back and forth with the swing of the ride trying to outdo each other. Several of the other guys even tried to mimic my cackling, but couldn't do it without breaking into real laughter.

At the end of the ride, I always had at least a couple people asking me how I could scream like that and still have a normal speaking voice afterward.

It felt damn good to be the center of attention like that.

Dammit. :upset:

So for dinner, I had left over crepes, a left over twice(or would it be thrice?) back potato, and some iced tea.

That sounds fun. I like doing that, but usually my friends are too embarassed to do anything like that.

I try to avoid being the center of attention whenever possible.

YDload 08-12-2005 10:20 PM

Being the center of attention is fun, but doing that at Kennywood would be kinda weird for me. Congrats on having fun Steerpike :)

It's kind of fun to be in the center of attention for a while.

Nice way to pick up chicks too, cos they know you're outgoing and fun.

I did that earlier. I highly recommend it.

Kingofdudes 08-12-2005 10:26 PM

/me rarely likes being the center of attention

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-12-2005 10:28 PM

Man, I suck. Every once in a while, I'll have a funny day, where everyone laughs at my jokes, even when they're really not very funny, which in turn, makes some girl like me. Of course chances are I like her back(I'm easy ) but then, I go on an unfunny streak of like a month.

:upsetemokid:

Meh, sounds like you had a grand time Alex. :) I like themeparks.

I'm the only person ever who likes Boston more than New York.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-12-2005 10:34 PM

I've never been to New York, but I'm guessing I'd like Boston better. Just because I'm really not a big fan of large overpopulated areas, and Boston is smaller and less overpopulated. :p

I love Kennywood! I've never ridden The Exterminator though because the last time I was there I was there it was brand new and the line was ridiculous...I really need to go back to Kennywood.

I've been to New York twice, I love it there. I've never been to Boston though.

No, Impaled Northern Moonforest owns that title.

"Entranced By The Northern Impaled Necrowizard's Blasphemous Incantation Amidst The Agonizing Abomination Of The Lusting Necrocorpse"

"Lusfully Worshipping the Inverted Moongoat, While Skiing Down the Necromountain of Necrodeath Mortem"

"Grim and Frostbitten Gay Bar"

"Awaiting The Blasphemous Abomination Of The Necroyeti While Sailing On The Northernmost Fjord Of Xzfgiiizmtsath"

You get the idea. And yes, they are a joke band.
