Cool art work of Hetfield in you haven't seen it already. I thought it was cool so I would post it. Good work from *blue haze* :thumb:

Yeah it's pretty cool.
fade to black is my favourite metallica song, they have some absolute amazing songs, but fade to black is my favourite

btw, lightningmetal666 you back on now?
Unfortunately I still can't help you guys with the project as it turns out my banning was a perm. one. (banned from using my home computer not from mx)

I really wish I could at least hear you're guys' stuff at least but I can't even do that. For all you younger guys learn from my mistakes. Boobies are not worth missing out on covering metallica. There are quite a few guys that might disagree but they seriously aren't worth it.

BTW Matt, I'm still kicking your ass on posts. :p
look at his post...

welcome to our forum, and stop with post like that :thumb:

Interesting post...
Slipknot is a joke...
A lot of nu-metal is. Not all of their songs are that bad...

That's a great drawing. Needs a little work in the face area but still very rockin'.

Anicrow 09-14-2005 02:27 PM

Lol, Anyways I noticed a lot about Favorite songs, I'm basing this on the song I always love to listen to no matter what. Granted I may listen to master of puppets more time in a week than fade to black, or Creeping death the next, or hell even Kall of the ktulu, I mean they're all Songs that are so epic that choosing a favorite seems impossible, but I love fade to black with more of a passion then any other...

St. Anger is to Nu-metal like SLC punk is to Punks. One gigantic slap in the Face. "Haha we can play It better than you stupid sell out pricks" "HAhahaha Anarchy is nothing but a childish dream"

I wouldn't consider it nu-metal just because the tone is so much better. Yes, it's missing solos and the lyrics aren't great, but those are the only things that make in nu-metal.

Fade to Black is my favorite song. Is there some way I could like make a signature saying that? I say it a lot...

Jev 09-14-2005 02:33 PM

But St. Anger's not good nu-metal at all

clairvoyant 09-14-2005 02:37 PM

St. Anger stinks no matter what genre you classify it as in my opinion.

lightningmetal666 09-14-2005 03:15 PM

I get the impression that the album was just rushed and wasn't refined or edited at all.

metalmilitia101 09-14-2005 03:26 PM

hmm

although st anger does not live up to the excellent quality metallica always displays, it still can be viewed as a good album in a genre almost of its own...i believe it has some amazing riffs and song structures. metallica is simply the best band ever, and st anger is just a seperate deal for me.

I think that I convinced that guy that was selling me that ESP KH-202 to wait. My money got mailed out yesterday so I am so stoked just by the thought that I'm getting that guitar.

In case you forgot which guitar I'm talking about here it is again:

I want this so bad I can hear it.

Avellin 09-14-2005 04:07 PM

Don't get that one. The Floyd is single-locking, crappy as can be.

fade 2 blackened 09-14-2005 04:27 PM

I consider St. Anger to be in a genre of its own called "scrap metal."

Joe 09-14-2005 05:58 PM
Don't get that one. The Floyd is single-locking, crappy as can be.
I got it, and I don't like it because the bending isn't great, however that was a $450 Jackson with Floyd, I don't know about LTD's

lightningmetal666 09-14-2005 06:44 PM
Don't get that one. The Floyd is single-locking, crappy as can be.
Well considering I only have a budget for $350 including shipping I think that I did an amazing job. These things run in stores for over $480 so I don't think I did a bad job finding it. The only problem I'm having right now is getting the money to pay him for it which will be alieviated (I hate spelling) in the next couple of days. The fact that he did extra stuff to it increases the value and to get something like that for less than what a normal stock guitar would go for is the shit.

Chu 09-14-2005 06:52 PM
metallica sucks i heard this album st.anger and it was all bad nu-metal. listen to some slipknot their more brutal.
 Nice.

Favourite song is Orion, but Fade To Black kicks just as much ***.

I don't know anything about guitars (I just have one :p), someone want to enlighten me?

Quickdrop 09-14-2005 07:38 PM

I dont understand why they even decided to release St. Anger and Reload. They've sucked, not even close to living up to the standards that the fans have for them. If i was in the band i would refuse to even put that **** on shelves. I think they just dont have the creativity they had years ago, its like Wayne from Static X wrote the lyrics for those two albums, they have hardly any meaning.

Metallica should just release a new live album, im sure that would please alot of fans, myself being one of them.

vashts80 09-14-2005 07:56 PM

k thx for your opinion, even though it's horribly wrong

Quickdrop 09-14-2005 08:26 PM

Thanks for my "wrong" opinion? K Thanks for your moronic post.

vashts80 09-14-2005 08:50 PM

Your opinion is wrong simply because Metallica wanted to make St. Anger and they wanted to make ReLoad. If they didn't want to make them the way they were made, they wouldn't have. It's as simple as that. They don't let their fans dictate what they do. Case in point: Lars with Napster.

Audiopond 09-14-2005 08:58 PM

Quickdrop you are a moron and your opinion sucks ReLoad and St Anger can kick any cds *** that you make. Don't be trying to talk **** if you can back it up with good points otherwise shut up.

Metallica releases Live Material about every month. It's really cool. www.livemetallica.com

And like he said, they don't make the music there fans want, they make the music they want. This time around, they were looking for a more heavier, crunchier, thrash sound. They made a sound that I have never heard before, and that's something truly unique and respectable.

I can't comment on Reload because I haven't heard the album.

Thank you for not wasting your time and a post like Quickdrop did without knowing what your talking about. Moral of this post: Know what your talking about before you open your face. :D

True^

I like St. Anger, I don't know why nobody else does, but I do agree that lars
snare sucked and Kirk forgot to add solo's (er lars threatened to beat him up if he played them)

oh well I still love the album

gocaps how is the recording equipment?

i also think st anger is a good album... i don't really mind the snare sound anymore...

...but of course i still don't like the "no solos"

CockeyedMaverik 09-14-2005 11:44 PM

do u guys think that maybe they're starting to sell out in a way? no solos because thats not what the radio wants so they comply so that they can sell more CD's? I mean they put up such a fuss about napster when really all napster did what help to get their music out there. but getting rid of Napster they made it more difficult for some fans to enjoy their music.

Maybe they were just changing up their style a tad. Every single one of their albums have a different sound or approach i geuss u can say.

I admit i don't know much about metallica personally or even that no solos would help them get on the radio more or sell more CD's. I just own a couple of their cd's.

edit: i liked some songs on both reload and st. anger and i don't think either were as bad as some people are making them out to be. neither are up to par with the black album or and justice for all though

Chu 09-14-2005 11:49 PM

Maybe Lars wants to sell out, get mor money etc.
But I don't think that's the general concensus(sp?) of the Metallica camp.

Lars only really cares about money.
