I didn't mean it like that! Obviously growling still does it job in death metal. I'm just saying if I'm making my own music I want it sans-growl because there isn't much cool you can do with a growl. A good shriek on the other hand is different.

Maybe. I dunno. It usually seems to give the music a certain air of monotony imo. There's definitely exceptions it's just not my thing really.
