In some cases with songs, the solos are the only thing that require alot of skill and fluency to play...Sultans of Swing is definitely not the case. I just bought Making Moives th other day, I reccomend it to all classic rock fans.

Woodstock 03-15-2005 05:15 PM

I've never seen any good bands live.

Steve Miller Band is great.

Well, who would you consider a good band?

Then what bad bands have you seen?

Woodstock 03-15-2005 05:18 PM

I should've rephrased that, I've barely seen anyone live. The best I have seen live were The Beatles impersonaters. Pretty pathetic.

funkybeeatch14 03-15-2005 05:22 PM

The Fab Four? They're a decent band. Where do you live?

Woodstock 03-15-2005 05:26 PM

Toledo, most of the good stuff is in Detroit.

Umphrey's McGee is big in the Midwest, you should go check them out the next time they're in town.

You play drums? If so it would make more sense to go to the clinic.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-15-2005 06:09 PM

Drummer = drummer clinic
guitarist = vai show

EDIT: I watched Almost Famous again and I picked up a few new things.

"Mick Jagger's not gonna try to be a rock star when he's 50"

 I thought that was funny.

"You guys go on without me, I'll deadhead back"

My first thought after that was, "Can Badmoon drive?"

It seems like forever since I've been here. Good thing I missed your banning.

Over the pages it seems there was a lot of new regulars posting, which is good.

Tommy>Quadrophenia.

B0nz0 03-15-2005 06:24 PM

yea i'm leaning towards the clinic. only problem with that is that it's difficult for me to get there. i don't have a car here and the university shuttles go to vai's venue. but i really wish i could do both...

Uno, Dos, Tres.

I got extra credit in Web Page Design for quoting Tommy.

I was making fun of Michael Jackson and I made a website with him saying "I'm your wicked uncle Michael and I'm glad you won't see or hear me as I FIDDLE AAABOUT"

And I also made Michael say "I'm sorry, I was spending "time" with my friend Tommy, who's deaf, dumb, and blind.

lunch998 03-15-2005 06:28 PM

I almost had a chance to see the Allman Brothers tonight in NYC, but I'm going tomorrow so I couldn't.

Malcom: That's cruddy/hilarious

MalcolmYoungRock 03-15-2005 06:29 PM

To see the Allmans? NICE.

Edit: Hey, I bashed Michael Jackson, and got extra credit.

My Web Page Design teacher's a classic rock junkie too.
To see the Allmans? NICE.
I can't, I could have gotten tickets but I'm not going to New York until tomorrow, so then I didn't. I was annoyed that I couldn't go earlier in order to see them.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-15-2005 06:32 PM

Oh...you got me all worked up.

Yeah, I know how you feel, we missed Van Halen in Las Vegas two months ago.

By a day :(

Same thing here, but Allmans>>Van Halen.

Turns out my English teacher saw the Allmans in 1973 or so and she was 3rd row.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-15-2005 06:37 PM

Yea, Allmans > Van Halen.

Actually, thinking about it, we missed it by like 2 hours.

We got into Las Vegas around 9 or 10

the concert started at 8

jpj 03-15-2005 06:38 PM

The Allmans usually come to Pittsburgh in the summer, so I hope I get to see them.

I'm going to Pitt in like a week. Along with Michigan, and maybe Chicago.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-15-2005 06:41 PM

Allman's come to California?

Maybe?

Maybe?

Edit: I'm looking on Ticket Master and I see Creedence Clearwater....Revisited.

My hopes were so high for like 2 seconds.

What are you doing just going to all the big cities?

lunch998 03-15-2005 06:43 PM
What are you doing just going to all the big cities?
Michigan isn't a "big city", but I'm visiting a few schools.

Detroit is dirty, and full of Kiss fans :( .

lunch998 03-15-2005 06:52 PM

That's why I'm not going.
