Yes, I did, haven't listened to it yet.
Its a **** good album!

StrangelyBrewed13 07-01-2005 07:30 PM

I just found out that Freddie Mercury was born in Capetown in Africa.

clown_phobia 07-01-2005 07:32 PM

I didn't know that!

Woodstock 07-01-2005 07:33 PM
We created more than that.
True, and you already named them so no need to add on.

Walrus Gumboot 07-01-2005 07:35 PM
Its a **** good album!
I love the harmonica solo in "Oh Yoko!" so much. I have deduced that is probably in D, and I can sort of mimic it
Not to mention Jealous Guy, the hypnotic I Don't Wanna Be a Soldier Mama and Oh My Love, plus the scathing "How Do You Sleep?" about McCartney
I just found out that Freddie Mercury was born in Capetown in Africa.
I knew he wasn't born in England, but I was thinking he grew up in somewhere that started with a "P". Portugal or something.

BludgeonySteve 07-01-2005 07:38 PM
US/Canada- The Band, Bruce Springsteen, Boston, Bob Marley, well, Jamaica is closer to US than England, CCR, Frank Zappa, Steppenwolf, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Miles Davis, Simon and Garfunkel, The United States of America, Nick Drake, Aerosmith, Mamas and Papas, ZZTop, Johnny Cash, VU...

British- Cream, Pink Floyd, The Animals, the Yardbirds, Blind Faith, U2, Van Morrison, Donovon, The Kinks, King Crimson, Traffic, Jeff Beck...

A bunch of artists from my library.
We've been over the whole "which contry had the better bands deal" before. I think that England has the best bands, Badmoon says the US does, and we all agreed that Canada is pretty much useless other than a few bands :p

I'm on the US side also. :p

clown_phobia 07-01-2005 07:48 PM

Illmatic 07-01-2005 07:49 PM

USA! USA!

BludgeonySteve 07-01-2005 07:49 PM

teh score=even'd

edit: nevermind :upset:

jpj 07-01-2005 07:51 PM

I don't really care which country has the best bands, but I'll say the U.S. becuase of ABB, The Dead, Gov't Mule, Widespread Panic, Phish, SCI, etc.

Just in case some of you didn't see it.

BludgeonySteve 07-01-2005 07:54 PM

Lets get that england vote from lunch. The Who...

clown_phobia 07-01-2005 07:56 PM

Someone start a poll on this! England vs. USA!

Woodstock 07-01-2005 07:57 PM

Don't get me wrong, England has amazing bands. I just think the US is better since we created the forms of music many English bands imitated.

BludgeonySteve 07-01-2005 07:58 PM

I usually go by quality of the music, but whateva.

Woodstock 07-01-2005 07:58 PM
I usually go by quality of the music, but whateva.
Yea, but it's the roots.

BludgeonySteve 07-01-2005 08:00 PM

I'll give the USA credit for the blues. Somebody had to make black people's lives terrible so that they could write those songs.

My grandfather (my dad's dad) actually was a bluesman

.......and Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, and R&B.

BludgeonySteve 07-01-2005 08:06 PM

/not a country and bluegrass fan although some of it is good.

lunch998 07-01-2005 08:47 PM

Part of me says The Who, the rest of me says American.

JonG 07-01-2005 08:49 PM

I thought Steppenwolf was German. Guess not.

magicbus 07-01-2005 08:50 PM

I vote blues first, England next.

JonG 07-01-2005 09:00 PM

America, FUCK YEAH
America, FUCK YEAH
America, FUCK YEAH

lunch998 07-01-2005 09:03 PM

Yea so basically America dominates England.

Anyone up for some trading/uploading?

Walrus Gumboot 07-01-2005 09:12 PM
I thought Steppenwolf was German. Guess not.

Too bad there are no Brits to defend their case. I love Folk/Country Rock/Jam Bands, but there is also a a soft spot for Yes, Queen, The Stones, The Who, Leppelin, and, of course, more than anyone, The Beatles

lunch998 07-01-2005 09:16 PM

It's better that way, we can make fun of them with no retaliation.

jpj 07-01-2005 10:07 PM
