I'm pretty good actually.

I can't wait to leave school, I got some good coursework results back today, for resistance of a wire, and I'm listening to Handsome Devil by the Smiths!

All is well in Craig-World today, yourself?

We have only just started the resistance of a wire coursework over here. What grade did you get for it?

magicbus 10-06-2005 10:25 AM

I found out I got a 98% on my Psych exam. Fuck yea.

Except for working this afternoon, the next few days will be awesome. I have Rock class 9-12 tomorrow, and that's my only class on Fridays. Tomorrow night I'm going to my friend's dorm and we're going to smoke his hooka. Saturday and Sunday are open days, we might be visiting friends and/or going to a cider mill.

Well, my life isn't as good/interesting as everyone elses. I'm job hunting at the minute, and i handed in an application at Woolworths and Tesco, so i should hear from them soon enough.

i would get a job in a music shop or an instrument shop if i were you.
then you get to listen to music and do nothing. :-D

That'd be incredible. I applied at HMV and CDplus in the summer, but didn't get a call from either. :upset:

I suggest against a job. :) I've learned from personal experience that working for a living is no fun. Just learn to do without money and other necessities. Damn this modern lifestyle!

Strange that this actually got a fair few responses. Not only because it was intended as a joke, but because without the extra word I would've doubted any responses at all.

Anyway. I've been sitting here for about two hours now, with the Preface and Chapter 1 of Locke's Second Treatise of Government open in front of me, trying to will myself into getting the reading done. I haven't read anything past the first two words, probably because they are "thou hast" and I really can't be bothered. I seem to have decided subconsciously somewhere along the way to devoting this time instead to listening to and rating as yet unrated albums on my RYM account.

Necessities...you mean like....food?? I'm interested to know how you plan to go on living when your parents kick you out of their basement..?

Shattered_Future 10-06-2005 01:39 PM

I like my job...babysitting. :D

I get paid to basically watch tv and eat food and play videogames. Tis majorly awesome...under the table, you don't have to get dressed up, there's not really any restrictions.

I want to get a job at either a guitar store or a cd store though...I can mock all the customers who purchase crappy cds. :p

Is reading Locke obligatory?
Yes :( Two weeks of work was reading Hobbes and Locke, ready for the lectures to come..the next few weeks of lectures basically won't make sense to me, or else pass by in a blur of information, if I don't read all this now. Besides which, I have to write out answers to questions on them as I go along, which will no doubt be checked in coming tutorials.
I have to read Machiavelli's Discourses for political theory, but they're mindnumbingly boring, so I think I'll read The Prince, which is far more concise, and work of secondary texts for the rest.
I think The Prince is a secondary text for us, too. I read it on my own last year already anyway.

Well, generally speaking Top 40, MTV, teeniebopper music, whatever the crap you want to call it...the kind that preppy people listen to.
Can't you read books and articles by other authors about the 2nd Treatise, though? I'm not sure if this is available for Locke, but there's companion readers for a lot of old texts which explain and reference passages from the primary source.

Otherwise, good luck. :p You did the hard bit by reading Hobbes.
Library? :-\
Even in the libraries. I can never find anything in them :)

Besides which, my favoured library method is to wander around until I find somewhere secluded, sit down, pick a book off the nearest shelf and hope it's in a language I can read.

Bartender 10-06-2005 02:47 PM

Nope. Fallen into watching Spooks, and I'll be watching something else at ten. Looks like I'll be attempting to fit Locke into the weekend only.

Lunch 10-06-2005 03:39 PM

Edit: Nevermind, I thought I needed help from Jom with calc homework but I just figured it out. I'm sure I'll have a lot more problems in a bit though.

So, uh..how's it going?

Thank you. :( I made this account over a year ago, after the last time I was banned. I was getting really into black metal at the time but now I look at it and think it sounds kind of cheesy. Oh well.

Shattered_Future 10-06-2005 03:52 PM

Why'd you get banned, by the way?

Neurotoxin 10-06-2005 03:54 PM

I think he got banned for his ratings on Sputnik. Not sure though...

Leper Affinity 10-06-2005 03:55 PM

Yep, it was for voting on sputnik. Damrod was at least nice enough to have a supermod ban me for two weeks instead of perm banning me.

Bartender 10-06-2005 04:20 PM

Just be glad it's an alternate account, I suppose.

Twenty minutes spent cleaning up ********** spam isn't fun.

Browsing http://www.amazon.co.uk for ways to spend as-yet-unreceived money is, though. I've got a couple of dozen possibilities already, but let me know of any bargains there I might have missed.

Riva 10-06-2005 04:29 PM

My usual library method is to go there and search for several years to find the right Sciene journal. :-/

Also, saw an awesome Japanese movie, called Arigami, last night before bed. Anyone seen it? I made a thread in VG&M.
