So....what did I miss?
Oh don't get me started on how much you missed.... *pauses, runs away* |
Wow, only 3000? More like 27000 :D
|
holy **** theres alot of replys here
Which bands do you like, except for obviously Led Zeppelin? |
Can anyone help me? I was wondering which album Eric Clapton's Hideaway is on.
|
It's actually on John Mayall's album Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton.
|
My favorite performances were by Canned Heat and Santana.
EDIT: And CSNY
Ha, I was watching an A&E biography on Santana. It was like "Santana's first big gig was Woodstock, but trouble came early when Carlos was still tripping on LSD and his set came early." The they go to a clip where he is playing and making all these faces while playing. heh heh. Walrus Gumboot, Mcgill is like a 2 hour drive from my town. |
Happy 65th birthday to Phil Lesh!
Oh it's also Sly Stone's birthday. |
im born early 90s so i have never seen any of this bands live, stuff i love to listen to is:
CCR Deep purple 1#KI44 (KISS) <- love there music they owns iron maiden- (do they count as classic) led zeppelin stuff i hate hip hop/rap/tecnho/pop the eurovision song contest |
CCR - approved.
Deep Purple - Approved Kiss - Get out of the thread. Iron Maiden - Not Classic Led Zeeplin - who are they? I've never heard of Led ZEEPLIN. I've heard of ZEPPELIN. I'd say you're about 85% n00b. |
Nirvana isn't really clasical rock huh?... they DID break up, but that's just because kurt died( god bless him)
Hmm.. it's still a shame |
Nirvana isn't considered Classic Rock by us.. but according to my radio station :upset:
|
Nirvana isn't really clasical rock huh?... they DID break up, but that's just because kurt died( god bless him)
Hmm.. it's still a shame
What does breaking up have to do with being classic? |
yeah i don't understand how nirvana could be classified as classic rock by anyone, it's just,..... not
|

I mean true they put on an act, but so did Pink Floyd with the Wall. And if they had trouble because they were sloppy why couldn't they just play the best the could like Page did. |

Nirvana? Classic? ROCK????????????? Please excuse me while I throw up. |
You know I know they arn't classic rock, but why in gods name does everybody flip out when sombody says they like Nirvana. I mean I don't listen to them, but you can't ignore that they influenced many. I agree their fans make them out to be WAY better then they are, but the people who don't like them are just as annoying when they make them out to be worse then they are.

i don't like them, but i don't feel i know enough of their material to definitively comment on them. therefore i personally do not like them but i'm not gonna bash them |

they dont really make them out to be worse than they were. a lot of people (not in this thread) value technical talent over songwriting ability. many of the fans in r&m are into metal. plus, you have to factor in that its tiring to hear their name over and over again. almost every topic, someone has to bring up nirvana. they were good but they werent even the best band out of the 90's. |
You mean you listen to Smoke On The Water (Deep Purple).
Har. Get into.. Allman Bros CSN(Y) Grateful Dead Neil Young Jefferson Airplane Widespread Panic Bob Dylan
no hazing the newbie. And it seems that some of those bands represent a significant departure from his taste in music. he seems to more like the heavy stuff, which the grateful dead and jefferson airplane and dylan most def are not. i think a more logical starting point for him would be led zeppelin, cream, AC/DC and van halen and maybe even zz top and the doors. i love all those bands u mentioned but i don't see them as a good starting point for someone who currently likes deep purple and kiss |
Yeah, maybe I should just give up and start listening to Rooney and Dave Matthews Band
Whoooaaa I don't like Dave, he's the king of tools. And Rooney, I liked their song from The OC but thats about it. |

Oh no well I wasn't defending Nirvana as much as their fans. I actually don't like any part of Nirvana. And I guess I can see how my fustration with the band is low because I rarly listen to the radio and therefore don't have to deal with them. I just feel there is too much Nirvana flaming when there are plenty of other shitty band out there that are going unflammed. You gotta spread the hate people. |

im with B0nz0.... seriously ... those are really good bands but if you were talking to a metallica fan would you suggest those too... even tho clapton was with Cream still listen to Clapton's solo stuff cuz thats good stuff too |

Neil Young is the only one on the list I think he might like and by that he would only like half of Neil's stuff. Mayeb some Widespread Panic too. :-/ |
Speaking of Neil Young what albums should I get...I have On the Beach, Harvest and s\t.
I heard Tonights the Night is good but is it electric or folk? |
