I actually think Ashes against the grain is their best

I can't really settle on whether I like the Mantle or Ashes Against the Grain more, they're both amazing in their own ways.

i like the mantle but pale folklore is my favourite

agalloch in the black metal thread this would have caused the place to implode a year ago but im down with it.

pale folklore is my favourite but the mantle occasionally overtakes it. ashes against the grain isn't really that far behind.

it's not really like Sons of Northern Darkness but just get At the Heart of Winter and Pure Holocaust anyways.

all of their other albums lack the badass riffery of sons of northern darkness

Immortal is just bad.

All shall fall is a great album but I prefer At the heart of winter and Damned in black. Sons of Northern Darkness is great too and so is Blizzard Beasts.

Pure Holocaust is pretty badass too.

pure holocaust deserves more praise than the later crap

I haven't heard Blizzard Beasts or Battles in the North but of the rest of their albums Damned in Black is the only one I didn't like.

Actually my one friend was playing Immortal in his car on the way to some party in New Jersey in August... I forget what album it was but I think it had a song called Antarctica or something about Antarctica.

Anyway that album was actually good, which surprised me.

I remember I used to like Pure Holocaust. :lol:
