Aakon_Keetreh 01-25-2011 05:27 PM

lol why, the band name sucks already, doesnt sound appealing either

witchxrapist 01-25-2011 05:38 PM

Would it be a better name if it was in a made up language?

Also, what doesn't sound appealing? A link?

It's ill shit, stop being a homo.

xharles 01-25-2011 05:43 PM

sounded prtty good 2 me

witchxrapist 01-25-2011 05:44 PM

Ya but what if their name was Sarveneskenit (with a bunch of random accents) instead, it would be so much grimmer.

xharles 01-25-2011 05:46 PM

Fäthër Kläüsë

i like that one

Aakon_Keetreh 01-25-2011 05:48 PM
Ya but what if their name was Sarveneskenit (with a bunch of random accents) instead, it would be so much grimmer.
what kinda black metal is it

Juddybear 01-26-2011 12:36 PM

each day that goes by this thread gets more derp

publicastration 01-26-2011 01:58 PM

it's just more atmospheric bm

witchxrapist 01-26-2011 02:47 PM

Really really good atmospheric/dsbm.

Aakon_Keetreh 01-26-2011 03:44 PM

meh. im really iffy on new atmospheric black metal bands. after a while they all sound the same.

Morumbar 01-26-2011 04:05 PM

That's becoming my gripe with post-black metal and shoegaze. Atmospheric black metal has more than enough variety, imo.

That said, I still haven't checked them out, Mappy. :\ Will get to it soon.

idk dude you listen to so much atmospheric bm, so maybe your right with it having variety, its just that every time i hear someone freak out about a new atmospheric release, i listen to it and get really bored.

fuck post-black. bores the shit outta me too for the most part. Woe is the exception.

witchxrapist 01-26-2011 04:11 PM

shut up and listen damn it

Bleekill 01-26-2011 04:11 PM

I never really thought of Woe as post-bm, they have some pretty straightforward stuff. I mean it's definitely clean productionwise but it's not all shoegazey and atmospheric like post-bm usually is.

witchxrapist 01-26-2011 04:12 PM

Who said Woe is post-bm so I can fight them at a show.

Nepenthe 01-26-2011 04:51 PM

i specifically stated a couple pages ago that woe isn't post black

Txus 01-26-2011 05:26 PM

post black metal? haha

Anglachel 01-26-2011 06:42 PM

i will fight anyone that seriously thinks of anything as post-black metal

Nepenthe 01-26-2011 06:51 PM

why

do you not consider post rock and post metal genres either

Bleekill 01-26-2011 07:11 PM

People try to group together atmospheric black metal and post bm and just call it all atmospheric bm but it's not the same. post bm has the shoegaze and post rock elements and usually a lot cleaner production than atmospheric black metal. Atmospheric black metal is a lot closer to traditonal black metal and from what I see, it started with Burzum, trying to create a dreamlike/trance feel to the songs with longer, absorbing tracks.

Anglachel 01-26-2011 07:49 PM

every single variant

must make new genre name

no shut the fuck up its atmospheric bm nobody here is actually saying blackened punk its just hipsterfaggots and their faggotree thats making post-bm what it is

Anglachel 01-26-2011 07:52 PM

so i head this new blackened post-deathgaze metal album yesterday it was pretty sweet

witchxrapist 01-26-2011 07:55 PM

wolves in the throne room is not balc ke metal becaus the y r from ametinca

Anglachel 01-26-2011 08:00 PM

wittr are postambientfairyblackmetalcore

Nepenthe 01-26-2011 08:08 PM

dude your argument is retarded

for one i think the term 'atmospheric' being used for a genre is just idiotic. every single song in the world has an atmosphere of some kind. i've always thought this was so fucking stupid.

post black metal would literally mean using black metal conventions to create something that isn't wholly black metal. which is exactly what bands called post black metal are. it's a good term, just like post rock, post punk, post metal, post hardcore, etc etc

Anglachel 01-26-2011 08:12 PM

those are retarded too though theyre just so widely accepted now i dont say anything

witchxrapist 01-26-2011 08:13 PM

post metal i disagree

sounds more like metal influenced post rock bands

Nepenthe 01-26-2011 08:14 PM

explain the retardedness

so far all you've done is make lame jokes about 'fairy post ambient blackgaze metalcore' which is nothing at all like what anyone has said (ever, to my knowledge). there is black metal, and there is post black metal.
sounds more like metal influenced post rock bands
that sounds a whole lot like post metal

Juddybear 01-26-2011 08:14 PM

anglachel has mad raw opinions

Anglachel 01-26-2011 08:16 PM

sounds kinda different, gonna slap post on it

Nepenthe 01-26-2011 08:20 PM

so then you're saying that krallice and negura bunget and alcest and cold body radiation and altar of plagues are black metal

witchxrapist 01-26-2011 08:23 PM

idk how krallice or altar of plagues wouldn't be black metal....
that sounds a whole lot like post metal
yeah, which is freaking retarded

look at how you defined a 'post' genre, and how most people do, myself included

post punk isnt punk influenced post rock, post hardcore isn't hardcore influenced post rock, nah mean?
