First person to point out the error in this post wins a prize! (it's quite obvious, but should spark interesting conversation)

Neil Young said that, not Cobain.

Stupid a hole

Specifically on My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue) on Rust Never Sleeps.

I really have to go down there sometime... I live in the middle of nowhere and none of my close friends are into the same kind of music I am so I can't get a ride. Neither of them are they stoners by any means either. I may be compelled to call them nerds *sigh*

EDIT: I freaked when I read that post I didn't even look to see that 5 other people already corrected him/her

Only a couple (twice I think) I don't go to many shows, none of the bands I listen too still have all the original members, and if they do none of the original members have their original hair.

Walrus Gumboot 03-14-2005 06:27 PM

So you're not considering UCONN?

MYR 03-14-2005 06:28 PM

I still need to get Rust Never Sleeps.

I really like that album.

Listen to it ALL the time on the site.

I know when I've reached the Neil Young section of my iTunes when I see all the high numbers. I play though his greatest hits cd all the time.

Helpless = 40 times played
After the Gold Rush = 47 times played
Only Love Can Break Your Heart = 46 times played
Heart of Gold = 42 times played

Brown Eyed Girl = 75 times played.

I like that song, a lot.

If some time in the future I get hit by a car and suffer brain damage, I'll check it out, but other than that I think I'll be going to a more pretentious school.

According to iTunes I've listened to that song 6 times.

If I listened to it 40 times, it would be 400 minutes of my life...woah.

I would rather go somewhere else but my folks are in that too rich for financial aid/too poor to pay for it themselves so I would have to pay for anywhere else but UCONN. I am hoping I can get into some Canadian school somehow.. maybe McGill or for god's sake at least somewhere where I can still ski :upset:

You should check out UVM.

Heh, McGill is like Yale, not too easy to get into.

EDIT, Nvm forgot about the non-state school ****.

And I just IMed my brother who said his friend got a 1200 on SATs and didn't get into UCONN, I guess it's changed since my older sis went there, she's 27 now.

pigonthewing82 03-14-2005 06:43 PM

You know what I just realized while listening to Tommy? I wrote a riff that is just like the one in Pinball Wizerd before I ever heard the song (only mine was two frets down). Dam at least I know the riff would have been a hit :p

I failed to mention I somewhat of a hardcore nerd..(Model UN etc.) some of my best friends are on the 3rd best Robotics Team in the country-- I am hoping for the smallest chance of getting into McGill
Yeah,UVM might be a possibility.. is it better acedemically than UCONN? The music scene MUST be better

EDIT:  since where is UCONN hard to get into!?

That happens to me all the time. WHen i find a riff i think is awsome, it doesnt take long before i realize its been repeated on the radio 5000 times since its creation 30 years ago

I need to be more creative. This dam progressive rock isnt inspiring me enough! :p

pigonthewing82 03-14-2005 06:51 PM

Yea and whats weird is thats not the first Who riff that thats happened to me with. I must have heard that shit in the womb or suttin.

Distant Echoes 03-14-2005 07:02 PM

I made a sample today...about 50 secs. Id upload if i knew how, but i swear the main chord sequence i made sounds so fimiliar its killing me...something i probably disregarded on a modern rock station. I cant stand that!

MYR 03-14-2005 07:02 PM

Lunch listened to Tommy in the womb.

jpj 03-14-2005 07:04 PM

I saw Paul McCartney in the womb

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one......unless Lunch is my estranged twin

Walrus Gumboot 03-14-2005 07:05 PM

I... don't remember what happened when I was in the womb.. I think I went to the Keys or Jamaica or something, prolly got stoned off my developing fetus arse too

I saw Led Zeppelin when I was still an egg...

Jam2Me 03-14-2005 07:09 PM

Hah UVM is a better school than UCONN, I have a UVM story though:

I was touring colleges with my family for my older brother, UVM was a stop. It was April 20th AKA, 4/20 :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: and they were having a riot at that school for some reason...but that school is one of the biggest reefer schools I've ever seen. They were having some kind of concert that day, among others Willie Nelson was supposed to be there.

Distant Echoes 03-14-2005 07:22 PM

I was doing in the womb what im doing now...sitting on my lazy *** - not doin nothin for nobody.

my parents are boring...and i think its hereditary :upset:

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 03-14-2005 08:02 PM

I was probably listening to Three Dog Night in the womb...:(

I bought LZ II this weekend, but it was a birthday present for a friend, so I couldn't keep it. I'm going to have her burn it for me.:D I think I'll be getting Fly By Night soon too (my ex and I are finally becoming friends again).

Just heard Casey Jones-Grateful Dead yesterday, and I am HOOKED. I've probably listened to it about 100 times in the past two days. - Drivin' that train, high on cocaine... -

Yea the song that got me into the Dead was Bertha, but I'm really getting into Uncle John's Band and Casey Jones right now too, did you by any chance knowtice one of them sniffing a line before the song?

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 03-14-2005 08:08 PM

Yeah, but I didn't know that's what was going on.
