I love both Domestica and The Ugly Organ. I probably listen to The Ugly Organ more, but eh, it's hard to say I like one more than the other.

How about Such Blinding Stars For Starving Eyes vs. The Storms of Early Summer. I have 2 songs off each album and I'm considering ordering one of the two. Suggestions?

leiferikson 02-22-2005 05:51 PM

I am currently digging the last two cd's i purchased, Doves and Bloc Party. I have been highly impressed with both.

Does anyone else think that Bloc Party's 'She's Hearing Voices' is 'Thriller' for the 21st century?
Does anyone else think that Bloc Party's 'She's Hearing Voices' is 'Thriller' for the 21st century?
Is it because everyone knows the dance for "She's Hearing Voices," or is it because Vincent Price narrated Bloc Party's epic music video?
Is it because everyone knows the dance for "She's Hearing Voices," or is it because Vincent Price narrated Bloc Party's epic music video?
The latter i believe. No, the song has some spooky sounding chords and there's a kinda wierd talking voice near the end which sounds a bit like Vincent Price's "rap". I could imagine the dance from thriller going rather well with the song

Swami 02-22-2005 06:09 PM

Isn't Vincent Price (sadly) dead?

leiferikson 02-22-2005 06:20 PM

Vincent Price succumbed to lung cancer in 1993

Swami 02-22-2005 09:24 PM

Superchunk, Supersuckers, Beck, Drive like Jehu, Blackalicious and Cursive.

NineBitFable 02-22-2005 09:59 PM

The bands I listen to the most, is probably:

Pixies
The Stooges
The Ramones
The Clash
The White Stripes
The Coral (Songs like Dreaming of You and Spanish Main is great)

Also been listening a bit of Bowie and Interpol

talk show host 02-23-2005 01:24 PM

I've been listening to smashing pumpkins today.

And also a bit of porcupine tree. It's been a long time.

asymm 02-23-2005 02:10 PM

The Who - Tommy

The Ashtray Girl 02-23-2005 03:46 PM

I'm loving Gorillaz and The Stone Roses today.
I just started listening to the Beatles- Sgt. Pepper... I wonder why I never did before?
I actively dislike Sgt. Peppers. Almost all of it is embarassingly bad. A Day In The Life is utter genius, true - but Jeff Beck's version is better.

Little Man being Erased 02-23-2005 04:44 PM

Bah.

It's probably close to my favourite Beatles record, maybe after Abbey Road.

Luxor 02-23-2005 05:24 PM

My favourite as well.

asymm 02-23-2005 05:33 PM

yeah... I love Sgt. Peppers as well...

Iai 02-23-2005 05:44 PM

I just can't stand it.

I know the vast majority of people disagree with me.

Rubber Soul and Revolver are both masterpieces, though.

Swami 02-23-2005 05:46 PM

He's lying.

Abbey Road is their best. Sgt Peppers is cool, but missable.

NineBitFable 02-23-2005 05:49 PM

Well since I havent ever listened to another Beatles record, I cant really say its their best, only that I think its pretty great right now.

I'm thinking of getting the White Album next.. but I'm not sure.

Little Man being Erased 02-23-2005 05:54 PM

Get Revolver or Abbey Road next.

asymm 02-23-2005 07:27 PM

Besides the Who... today I've been listening to The Jesus and Mary Chain's Psychocandy. It's pretty amazing... better than I anticipated.

Luxor 02-23-2005 07:36 PM

I think it's a bit "meh". It isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be.

EDIT: Psychocandy, that is.

Electrocution 02-23-2005 08:06 PM

I'm listening to Ladytron. I think that means I like men.

Swami 02-23-2005 08:09 PM

Haha.
He's lying.

Abbey Road is their best. Sgt Peppers is cool, but missable.
Correct. Revolver is the second best.
I'm loving Gorillaz
everyday brings us closer to Demon Days.

YDload 02-24-2005 12:52 AM

I finally learned how to play "Spillage" by Minutemen in its entirety. I used to wonder why, in the Punk forum, everyone said that Mike Watt was the best punk bassist ever. Now I am a bit closer to understanding that.
