It's a lot harder to play then I thought it would be.

You have to press the strings down so much harder then on the guitar, and you have to get the pressure on the bow just right or else it sounds awful.

It's fun learning a new instrument, though.

anyway, I dropped French A level today, so I can stay at home every other thursday...

i used to play viola/violin. it is a fun instrument. :-D

I dropped french because I was struggling to do four A levels.
Also, I had to be ruthless

my predicted grades were

English-A
Drama-A
Law-A/B
french- C/D

I had to chuck it so I could concentrate on my other subjects, also I was really starting to hate it and didn't think I could cope with the coursework.

fair enough.

Oh god that sounds like me with correspondence English in my last year. It was such a terrible course, I got 1 chapter done, and the teacher ended up sending it back because it wasn't done well enough or something. At that point I said **** it.

Oh, fair enough. When I'd finished my AS levels, we were more or less told to drop one in carrying on to A Level.

Apparently I was too liberal with my voting around sputnik. The mods misinterpret my high expectations as abusing the voting feature. I don't think I did anything wrong, but I'll just have to take it easy to avoid these long periods of bannage.

When you go into a sputnik review, there's a thing that says "was this review helpful?" at the bottom. You can select yes or no, and the number of how many thought it was good out of how many total votes is displayed at the top. The mods obviously thought I voted "no" too many times, and banned me. I think two weeks is a little excessive, but whatever.

That's a reason why you see a thread of mine hardly ever here, I haven't got the means to make them detailed or interesting, I have alot of respect for people like Alex and Jason, who can do it every week.

I always think it's a shame how these forums are so active but Sputnik is generally alot slower. I think that Sputnik would be a really useful tool for learning about music if more people utilized it. I've not been on it for a while either, I've got a few reviews I plan on doing over the next few weeks though.

No, I oftentimes don't, which I think is part of the reason. I still think it's a little unreasonable, especially since the sputnik ban carries over to mx, where I haven't done anything wrong.

I'm just lucky the mods had mercy on me and gave me a two week ban. It's always a perm ban for everyone else.
