i wasn't all too impressed by the new afi song i heard. i still prefer their pre-sts days, along with most people.

anyways, i think i'm going to go play with this new band tonight. they asked me if i was free, and me and my friends kind of planned to hang out tonight, but we haven't made any further plans, so whoever calls me first i'm going with i guess. the 2 guitarists are great for this band, and i've never heard the bassist play, but i've heard he's good. the only problem is, they play a bunch of classic rock stuff. i'm not really into that stuff. oh well. i'll go check it out.

I seem to remember making a similar comment a while ago.
But what sucks is the country they play on CMT and flash all over mainstream radio. It's horrible. It's just glorified pop with a fiddle thrown in.

But upon picking up banjo I was driven into listening to bluegrass to hear good players, and it really isn't bad music.
It's energetic as hell, fun to play, and it doesn't make your ears bleed with guttural belches and overly distorted wanking. Just don't listen to the lyrics.


And...I listened to the Duhks and fell in love.

i actually like some bluegrass. i would never buy a cd of it, but on an occassion it's a nice change from other music i generally listen to.
