It may come back eventually, I've been giving it a little bit of thought every now and then. Mostly because it would be nice to arrive at a list of nominations by critical decision instead of popularity. Indie music isn't a popularity contest, it's all about snobbery (;)), so why shouldn't the nominations work that way? I think it would be a neat idea to keep the popular-yet-undeserving guys out of the picture.

But once the 50 or 100 noms are decided, it will just be polls like normal. Either way it's still in the preliminary stages now. Still thinkin' about it :)

Yeah ok, cool. I just think it would be really interesting to see a list populated by the less obvious guitarists in music, and voted for by people who's oppinion I respect.
i got a 5 on my us history ap test...victory.
Ditto, and on Bio as well. So I've taken 3 APs in the last 2 years, and I'll have almost twice as many next year alone. Ugh... :o
Hey Zappa, my brother is also going to U of M.
Oh, sweet. What's he studying and all that?

asdf 07-15-2006 10:54 PM

Calc III I think, Intro to political theory, central european art and culture, some writing class

He's not sure about a lot of his classes. He's thinking of taking Czech as his language, but is undecided, and is probably taking Latin in his second semester.

Zappa 07-15-2006 10:56 PM

Neat.

Jawaharal 07-15-2006 11:18 PM

I totally forgot to buy Tom Waits tickets. Now if I have any hope of going I'm going to have to pay at least $300 to get tickets from a broker.

:upset:

That seems really hard to do. Whenever I go record shopping I usually leave with about 5 albums for $20.

something vague 07-16-2006 10:35 AM

20 for $20.

Zmev 07-16-2006 05:12 PM

Am I the only one who think Talladega Nights still looks really funny?

something vague 07-16-2006 05:16 PM

It looks funny to me.

ATM 07-16-2006 07:25 PM

Man what a day. Learned 3 songs with the band, then took out a boat and went tubing all day. Drinking beer and eating crabs :-D

I just got back from seeing that with the fams. Pretty sweet, the part with the giant cartwheel throught the jungle was so awesome.

BillCosby 07-16-2006 08:02 PM

I didn't think it was all that special.

Zappa 07-16-2006 08:18 PM

My new band played an open mic today. A couple guys came over, and we arranged one of my old songs for guitar (with a loop), bass, and keys. When we got to the place, we found another guitarist to play the looped part. I enjoyed having a band of 4 pieces with no drums.

We are called Hair and Teeth.

That was pretty much how I felt about it, but I was never a big fan of the first movie either.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 07-16-2006 08:48 PM

it was filler for the third one to me, but it was pretty entertaining filler.
pretty slapstick.
