As They Burn Alive is seriously the only recent metalcore band I'm stoked on I think. I tried out that Dead And Divine band everyone's jerking off over on the review site, and like, it's okay but goddamn, I'd just rather listen to old Architects - and the clean singing is awful.

Most people will like the last track on the ep, pretty confident. It's pretty botchy.

And I can't remember the last time I got stoked on a new metalcore band, was probably stray from the path and that was over a year ago.

Seriously, ABR blows so much generic metalcore out of the water in musicianship and songwriting, plus they're freaking incredible live. Better live show every time I've seen them since 2005.

I used to like Converge then I saw them live and there were 16 year olds and I realized I'm way too mature for that music. Now I just call people mad jelly hayders whenever they disagree with me.

I love the new album because they brought back that weird extra step in chord progressions that other bands like them never come to.

That's the reason I love ABR, other bands just do simple melodic death-sounding harmonies and leave it there, while ABR pulls out the entire scale, but tastefully.
