BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-29-2005 05:40 PM
So what if I am a Clapton 'fanboy,' I enjoy being me. And if I make Clapton look bad for you, then that's bad for you. I'll still be here enjoying listening to Clapton. And I don't think Eric Clapton would mind losing someone who would buy his stuff, since there are million of other people that will, even though I'm a 'fanboy' and making him look bad.
I'm sure Clapton cares about his reputation. Not that he would care for mine but I'm not sure if he would appreciate being called "god".
And if you read your post, you're making yourself look bad by getting all your panties in a bunch over a stupid comment that was something to bring a little fraternisation on this thread.
It really has nothing to do with me but I agree, I did over react but you're the one making the "stupid" comment.

TheDMV 06-29-2005 05:42 PM

Well, I personally prefer Claptons work with bands ie Cream Derek and the Dominoes than his solo work, though I do love his I shot The Sherrif cover. Bob MArley was great, anybody else in here like him?

White_heat 06-29-2005 05:42 PM

Does Clapton read these forums?

slowhand 06-29-2005 05:50 PM

And I chose to say something and I will enjoy saying it. You can as easily ignore all my post.

I also don't believe that my words, more like my writtings, have any sort of power over millions of people to change what they think about him and cause some irreversible damage to his reputation.

Oh wait, you did care. It seems that I hold more power over people than I thought. At least some.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-29-2005 06:03 PM

^That was so lame.

Has anyone heard of White Noise or HP Lovekraft?

slowhand 06-29-2005 06:10 PM
^That was so lame.

Has anyone heard of White Noise or HP Lovekraft?
Yes, it was, wasn't it. The lamest part was that it is true.

I'm gonna put this behind me, and I guess you did too. I still respect you man, even if you don't respect me. Just try to chill out when someone says something like that, you won't get anything out of it.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-29-2005 06:15 PM

Phew, took me a few minutes to get caught up.
Latest addition to my classic rock library: Rush's 2112.

Fucking awesome.
Agreed, the title track is sweet beyond reason.

on the topic of the Eagles, I think all of us agreed that the Hell Freezes Over acoustic Hotel California solo has to be one of the best solos.... ever.

But one of my favorite Eagles songs is Desperado.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-29-2005 06:17 PM

I still respect you too but I'm really starting to get annoyed by that whole "Clapton is God" thing and I would really appreciate it if wouldn't say it anymore.

Badmoon 06-29-2005 06:19 PM

Jeez, calm down.

I'm quite religious, and even I still realize Slowhand was joking, as was Robo when he said you are God.

It is not something to start a fight over.

slowhand 06-29-2005 06:19 PM
I still respect you too but I'm really starting to get annoyed by that whole "Clapton is God" thing and I would really appreciate it if wouldn't say it anymore.
Just ignore it. I just say it to poke fun at that fact. I don't believe he's god or anything. No one here takes it seriously, and that's why I always say it.

Riva 06-29-2005 06:20 PM

My favourite Eagles song is also Desperado!

ATM 06-29-2005 06:21 PM

I'm not big on the Eagles.

I'd rather listen to some spaced out psychadelic progressive music.

TheDMV 06-29-2005 06:22 PM
My favourite Eagles song is also Desperado!
Anyone ever see that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine goes out with some guy, but whenever Desperado comes on, he goes silent, and just looks off into the distance? Man I love that show.

Badmoon 06-29-2005 06:22 PM

"Take it Easy" is an awesome song.

RockAndRoll 06-29-2005 06:22 PM

The eagles are okay, they have a few good songs. but other than that I don't really like em.

robo2448 06-29-2005 06:23 PM
Well, I personally prefer Claptons work with bands ie Cream Derek and the Dominoes than his solo work, though I do love his I shot The Sherrif cover. Bob MArley was great, anybody else in here like him?
I honestly hate his cover of I Shot the Sheriff. I think it kind of sucks. In fact, I don't like his cover of Knockin' On Heaven's Door either. His solo covers are lacking something he had in the covers he had with Cream and Derek and the Dominoes.

And I've heard of HP Lovecraft but haven't heard anything by them. And let's just end all religious talk in this thread :thumb:

RockAndRoll 06-29-2005 06:23 PM

 I saw that one a few days ago.

haha yea I saw that. She wanted that to be their song, and he was like " NO, THAT'S MY SONG!"

RockAndRoll 06-29-2005 06:23 PM

Hand Jive is a cool song.

RockAndRoll 06-29-2005 06:24 PM

I like Desperado too, but I like most of there laid-back country rock better. And Seinfeld is the greatest show ever :thumb:

robo2448 06-29-2005 06:25 PM
Hand Jive is a cool song.
By Clapton? If so, I don't like that either. I guess I don't really like most of his solo stuff.

How can you not like Hand jive, so groovy.

Badmoon 06-29-2005 06:26 PM
And Seinfeld is the greatest show ever
Yea, definitely the best sitcom ever, followed only be 3rd Rock from the Sun

ATM 06-29-2005 06:27 PM

3rd Rock From the Sun was boring.

Simpsons is the best ever. So many classic rock refrences.

RockAndRoll 06-29-2005 06:27 PM

3rd rock from the sun was good, but nowhere near seinfeld.

jpj 06-29-2005 06:37 PM

Desperado sucks! Everyone knows Life in the Fast Lane is the best Eagles song!

And 3rd Rock From the Sun was pretty good but far from the best.

TheDMV 06-29-2005 06:40 PM

Glad to see there's love for Seinfeld =)

Now who likes the OC :p

ATM 06-29-2005 06:41 PM

The OC represents everything I hate about society.

robo2448 06-29-2005 06:42 PM
How can you not like Hand jive, so groovy.
It's groovy in the beginning for me, but just bores me for the most part. Actually I'm listening to it right now for the first time in a while in a while, and it's not really bad. It's just really different from his earlier stuff and it still bores me a little.

robo2448 06-29-2005 06:44 PM

I love Jagger's singing in that song. He may not be the best singer, but he has a great singing style.

Broken Arrow 06-29-2005 06:48 PM

Haha, I know robo said not to talk about religion anymore but, my cousin has this shirt that says "Jesus Rocks" and it had Jesus playing guitar, and he looked alot like Clapton so I took a magic marker and stroked out Jesus and wrote Clapton. Slighty sacreligous but hilarious aswell.

Dude, Syd Barret iz god!!

RockAndRoll 06-29-2005 06:49 PM

Angie is an awesome song.

TheDMV 06-29-2005 06:50 PM

I hate shirts that say something like

"Jesus is my homeboy"

It just doesn't seem right

All this Jesus = Hitler stuff on here annoys me infinitley as well
