BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-13-2005 01:59 PM

And Tommy!?!?!

Badmoon 03-13-2005 02:01 PM

Didn't Malcolm say he already owned Tommy and Who's Next. If so, you two should both leave.

Distant Echoes 03-13-2005 02:11 PM

You seem to be forgetting you talkin to people that dont do searches for little junk like that before replying to the post only above them.

Either way...from that list, id suggest Quadrophenia over all Who albums, if you have the money for a double album (though they might have jammed that all onto one CD now too, like Tommy).

Badmoon 03-13-2005 02:16 PM

You should learn to take a joke.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-13-2005 02:26 PM

I been into alot of Country Rock albums lately Any suggestions of what album I shoul get next? I have Sweetheart of the Rodeo, Nashville Skyline, Deja Vu, Workingman's Dead, Flying Buritos Brother's Greatest Hits, Music from Big Pink, Harvest and probably more but this is all I can remember at the moment.

Badmoon 03-13-2005 02:48 PM

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-13-2005 02:56 PM

Can you post a sample?

ATM 03-13-2005 02:59 PM

Schyma, did you like Kings of Convenience?

Badmoon 03-13-2005 03:02 PM
Can you post a sample?
No, because I own there albums on Mp3. So, I would have to put all of the Mp3's on a disc, then proceed to transfer all of the files into a folder through Musicmatch and then upload one song off the album onto Yousendit.com and then post it on here.

That's a lot to do.

It was good when is it from?

Walrus Gumboot 03-13-2005 03:51 PM

Hey, Schyma, that guitarist thread was a good idea :thumb:

I only nominated Django because it was I figured if I didn't nominate anyone else it would help his chances
Good old Django...

Neil Young is the greatest guitarist ever to live. Both for his sound and his amazing technique. If anyone says otherwise I will prove them wrong.

Then i'll just post the guitar tab to that song and we will see who will be pwnt.

And i'm aware of the crappiness of those lyrics.

He's not THE greatest guitarist, but he's ONE of the best. His songwriting pwns too.

I could argue that there are a couple guitarist I think compare to him. I will admit he's got a great sound, and his style of playing is awesome. I made sure he was on my list.

BludgeonySteve 03-13-2005 04:43 PM

Hehe. Neil Young is alright. Not the best. I just wanted to see if anybody would agree.

*also included him in list

I was replying to Malcom, who said he already owned Tommy and Who's Next. Do you think I would ever not recommend Tommy?

thickasabrick 03-13-2005 04:50 PM

Who do you guys think will win best guitarist?

DeusExMachina 03-13-2005 04:51 PM

Probably Kirk Hammett or Jimmy Page, because of fanboys. My personal fave is David Gilmour though. Although I wouldn't mind SRV or Santana taking it.

I would be happy if Gilmour won.

ATTN Malcom: It's fanboy usertitle time.

thickasabrick 03-13-2005 04:56 PM

I was thinking David Gilmour would win it. I remember Pink Floyd won the best band, and DSOTM won the best album...fans of both rock and metal are aware of how good Pink Floyd is.

It sort of makes me angry when some people make their top guitarist list and are like:
1) Randy Rhoads
2) Jimi Hendrix
3) Dimebag Darrel (RIP)
4) Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I don't understand why Dimebag Darrel also has to have (RIP) after his name, despite tons of guitarists being dead, and most of those being better than Dimebag. It's just annoying after a while. Don't any of those other guys deserve the respect Dimebags getting?

+Angus Young fanboyness

It would be cool to see Brian May, Duane Allman, or Jerry Garcia win it, but it won't happen.

Duane Allman was actually getting quite a few nominations.

I think he's very entertaining and fun to watch but not the greatest.

Neil Young is an incredible song writer.
