Britton 09-07-2005 02:41 PM

DaveTheAmazing 09-07-2005 02:42 PM

It's just not the same though :-(

Hey anyway, after being reccomended to by various people, I'm giving the end solo of Fade to Black a shot. There's something I don't understand. This will probably sound dumb, but what in the hell does it mean when theres a line coming out from a note and it says "full". Call me a guitar noob but i just dont no

fade 2 blackened 09-07-2005 02:44 PM

^^^im sure it means full bend

Hey we all have things we don't understand. I have been playing drums for just over 6 years now and there are still things that I don't understand. It may be worth cutting and pasting the tab and asking in the guitar forum. I am sure someone will probably know. Even if not its worth a shot.

aero 09-07-2005 02:49 PM

Is anyone willing to come to Atlanta, Georgia and play the electric part in the intro of Fade to Black for me? Pretty, pretty please? No one I know listens to Metallica...

Pretend it is
It's a full bend, bend the note so it sounds like the note 2 frets up. Use your third finger to bend and your 1st andf 2nd to reinforce it.

exup 09-07-2005 02:51 PM

i want a drumkit :(

Jev 09-07-2005 02:52 PM

If I could afford a Metallica concert, then I would go. Until then, I use Imesh.

Futuro 09-07-2005 03:56 PM
i want a drumkit
sonor force 3005 or 2005 are some of the best deals on the market nowadays. depends how much you have to spend.

I can record it... but I'm a few states up from you.
buy a baby drumkit they're ubercheap but like only 2ft tall.
Any good? I was thinking about getting an extremely cheap one just so my recordings could have some good drums instead of none. Unless there is an easy way to use the midi keyboard (already in a program) and the tab... that'd be awesome
^^^im sure it means full bend
Most likely, what note?
I wanted to change. Happy's my nickname.
I THOUGHT SO!!!! How do you change your name? i'd like to.

Werd.

I'm going to go record that stuff now.

Joe 09-07-2005 05:19 PM

Orion portion
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=04LL5FZC

Cliff's Last Bass Solo, cropped so that i don't get in trouble for james' language
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=04OPRU1P

(and if anyone wants the whole thing i'll upload it)

and (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth

That's a great idea, how about the TO LIVE IS TO DIE part when he speaks.

Chu 09-07-2005 05:32 PM

How about the Anesthesia he plays into For Whom The Bell Tolls?
*Do you guys have it? If not I'll upload for you, if you want.

Of course, you really have to listen to the full 9 minutes... :p
So that cancels it out of the news program.

It's so good, distorted bass + FWTBT x 1.5 Speed++;

Edit:
Werd.

Sweet! I'll have rhythm for FWTBT soon.

Just an off-topic question, my drummer (Who is also my brother) is a huge Metallica fan (Guess it runs in my family  ), but he doubts his ability to play Metallica songs (He also lacks doubles), so we're after some fairly simple 'pop' songs to play? We've looked at some Incubus and it's pretty easy, but very boring for me, I'm wondering if there are any simple drum songs that you guys know of? We can do FWTBT pretty easily (And I have suggested to him Seek & Destroy, but he thinks it's too fast), so any suggestions from you guys?

fade 2 blackened 09-07-2005 05:54 PM

can anyone here recommend an "easy" MAIN solo on the first four albums that I can learn? I think the Harvester of Sorrow solo is easier than some of the others like the Ride th Lightning solo.

Chu 09-07-2005 05:56 PM

Well I know from my experience the first Sanitarium solo is easy, but getting it all down in the correct timing was a bit difficult for me.

Also, the solos in Dimmu Borgir's 'Burn in Hell' are very easy (Hell the whole song is very easy).

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-07-2005 05:58 PM

Yeah, the first 2 solos in "Welcome Home" aren't too hard. The last one isn't either. I can understand someone having a bit of trouble with the third (faster) one.

brooksy1986 09-07-2005 07:36 PM

Is it me or listening to St Anger after dissing it so much (no offence) you find if u put it on, say when doing homework or somethin, you find yourself tapping your foot, maybe a little headbanging. OK its a pretty poor album by Metallica standards but lets face it those standards are pretty **** high up. Still its better than anything by Stinkin Park or Limp Shiznik. IMO

What im tryin 2 say is that even tho the album is pretty bad when you listen to it as "background" music, you appreciate it a helluvva lot more

clairvoyant 09-07-2005 08:10 PM

I still hate it.

I don't think its bad at all, it's just that people don't like it because they compare it to other Metallica albums. If that was a new band that came out with that CD people would most likely like it a lot more.

I doubt anything will make me appreciate St. Wanker. I still turn it on every now and then. St. Angel the song is pretty decent though.

Exactly how I feel. I think it's pretty good but has it's flaws and people just like to follow trends.

Keep those to a minimum.
