It's a great song, I can't imagine how excited I would be if I was in the process of writing a song like that. I'm just not good at writing stuff for my singer to sing (I can never find a good melody to fit the lyrics or vice versa).

I know her father isn't exactly considered a "rock star," I'd say Norah Jones is one of the most talented musicians around (who's parent is a musician), and is one of the few musicians children who didn't make their fame just from being part of a famous family. I kinda said that wierd, hopefully you all understand.
Who was her father/mother?

magicbus 06-29-2005 09:04 AM

Her father is Ravi Shankar.

(We all know him ;) )

Yes, I went out of California.

No, I did not enjoy it.

I listened to Sgt. Pepper's 5 times on the car ride home.

When it comes to classic rock or rock and roll.. I never see Joan Jett & The Blackhearts anywhere among teenagers. Only the punks that I hang out with listen to them.
Does anybody actually listen to them anymore?
Yes, I do  Ballroom Blitz is always fun to listen to
Ballroom Blitz is NOT by Blue Oyster Cult, and they have never ever covered this song. It is by The Sweet, and it just got mislabelled and then shared around on filesharing networks.

Broken Arrow 06-29-2005 02:30 PM

Big_Griff 06-29-2005 02:40 PM

Heres a whole bunch of classic rock songs that were voted on by the classic rock stations in the U.S. and the listeners online in order from 1 to 1000, this will really help you broaden your classical rock taste in music by listening to these songs, couldn't find the parent radio stations website with the list, but i did find one of the sister stations in seattle wit hthe same list here it is:

Fucking awesome.

Glitterati 06-29-2005 02:56 PM

The Eagles are good, pretty mellow stuff. I don't hear them mentioned a lot here.

slowhand 06-29-2005 02:58 PM

[i]Hotel California[i] has one of the best, if not the best, solo in rock history. And that's a lot to say.
