Thanks.

I think St. Anger has the best drumming and Sweet Amber has the best guitaring in the bridge (not saying much)

The lyrics are all turds though (IMO)
Yea, the lyrics aren't that great. And yes, welcome to the forums :thumb:
Play the first part of Anesthesia. I like the arpeggios that he uses immensely and it would be a fitting tribute to an amazing bassist. I honestly think that he was the Randy Rhodes of bass and there simply won't be another one like him. :upset:
Well I just edited a little bit of his last bass solo, so maybe that.

NP: Pulling Teeth

Yea, that's a good one.
I havent heard all of the Albums but its gotta be Ride the Lightening for me
123. Actually that's a part of the reason I picked my user name.
Lightningmetal (then for some reason I picked 666. Maybe I thought it was more evil or something)

yea but just think of what he could have done as a bassist if he was alive! its just crazy thinking about it. Anesthesia is one of my favorite songs to play :thumb:

Played bass maybe.

bootlegchelsea 09-07-2005 01:24 PM

lol, just maybe

lightningmetal666 09-07-2005 01:24 PM

I think about that every day. It really is a shame to see guys like cliff, randy, dime and other great musicians die from the most absolute bull**** of reasons. Why they had to die I will never know and when I die and I'm standing before god, I'm gonna str8 up ask him. The thought of how music would be today if they were all still alive haunts me to this day.

I've decided that on the 27th of this month, I will be taking up learning bass in Cliff's memory. Anyone that knows me would tell you that they simply cannot pry my guitar out of my hands, so for me to put the guitar down for a little while to learn bass is like a seriously major change.

Jev 09-07-2005 01:26 PM

Metallica wouldn't be much different if Cliff had lived IMO.

the bass is fun and you will enjoy...when you get a chance learn anesthesia

justine_hammett 09-07-2005 01:28 PM

cliff was so ****in amazin... i havent decided wat im gonna do on the 27th though. i might invite all my mates round and play pulling teeth at full blast and then FWTBT. wats everyone else doin?

PepsiMetal 09-07-2005 01:28 PM

Yea Cliff would have been happy with st. anger just like all other metallica members are. It's not like one person made this selection for all of them. If one didn't like it they would have left the band a long time ago.

lightningmetal666 09-07-2005 01:32 PM

I think that St. Anger would've had at least some sort of classical touch to it. It was cliff that introduced the band to a lot of different classical pieces (though James would just kinda go 'hey can we listen to some motorhead or venom') Plus I think bell bottom pants would still be in style. LOL.

fade 2 blackened 09-07-2005 01:47 PM

anyone here who thinks some of Lars beats in old songs are repetitive?
(i.e. Fight Fire with Fire; great song, good beats but theres only like three of them)

Britton 09-07-2005 01:53 PM

Well I wish everytime I heatr pulling teeth that cliff was still alive. He was the Randy of Bass and there won't be another. I can't wait till they make a movie about Metallica
they need to have cliff sitting in a music shop in san fran with alotta posers around jacking with guitars, then he goes into his solo and the camra is doing 360's around him
and in the backround you see alotta blank stares.....just another Dumb idea by Britton

Jev 09-07-2005 02:12 PM

If Cliff was alive (or if jason was still in), then St. Anger's bassing wouldn't have been so sloppy. **** you Bob Fock

Britton 09-07-2005 02:18 PM

I know it's nice of him to step in and all but come on man

Jev 09-07-2005 02:22 PM

Ever noticed at the end of all within my hands you can hear someone from the band saying "Bob Rock's really good at that"?

fatbandit 09-07-2005 02:26 PM

So for that song for Cliff, Howsabout the Orion interlude...?

That says volumes more about him. That song has emotion and stuff that Anaesthesia doesn't.

Yeah one night I was listening to it full blast and what I hear is "Hey man, I was rocking really good there"

By the way, Who are you and what you done with Flower Dance?

Jev 09-07-2005 02:27 PM

And it's not covered with a ton of distortion.

Britton 09-07-2005 02:28 PM

true, but pulling teeth is so raw it's awsome

Flower Dance whoeth?

fatbandit 09-07-2005 02:30 PM

Truly? Pulling Teeth on KEA is poo. The live stuff is where its at. But people don't appreciate it anyway.

Orion is musical. It shows off his playing (slightly), but his compositional skills, as a musician more.

:smash:

Sure, play dumb. But I will unravel your fiendish sceams!

Britton 09-07-2005 02:36 PM
