damn, that must have been nice

were you shopping for 1 or 2 tix? I kept trying 2, then "best available" then 1 tix, best available. After 30 minutes, i said "fuk this" and left to get inebriated

ThePatient 04-25-2006 02:44 PM

I got two. And then I went to work.

kurrpt 04-25-2006 02:49 PM

whatever server we were trying to get through to on ticketmaster's site must have been overwhelmed

Reywas 04-25-2006 02:54 PM
So lets all get this straight.

There is no decoy album.
There are no fake songs on 10 000 days
There is no double cd

agree with all the above?
so correct it hurts, my ears at least

gmoneyguy 04-25-2006 02:57 PM

Is it just me or is Vicarious reminiscent of Schism
Have you been on the balcony at The Tower?
not in a seat per say, but ive seen it

its actually one of the only places you might get away with sitting down the whole time, like i was telling you the other day

edit : gtrguy, the whole album is reminiscent of old TOoL songs

Esoteric_Creator 04-25-2006 02:58 PM

102 posts, and counting..

I don't think there is another CD (although, that would be sweet), nor a DVD, but I do think the quality and mix of the real album may be different. I've read a couple of posts that have stated that a couple of times..

7days..

I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but Viacarious is really sticking out to me.

Futuro 04-25-2006 03:01 PM

Oh man, The Pot is owning me now. The drum sound reminds me of Lenny white.

That's what I was hoping, obviously.

Reywas 04-25-2006 03:02 PM

I'm thinking about making a song called Viagrious.

Yeah, one of my favorite songs on the new album. Theres alot of great drums sounds on this album. No snare hit ever sounds the same. So awsome.

Syncratic 04-25-2006 03:06 PM

$2000, damn.

The most expensive I saw for the whole deal was $806.

That was a few days ago.

gmoneyguy 04-25-2006 03:08 PM

Now that you bring that to my attention you're right.

deadohiosky9 04-25-2006 04:11 PM

I've been listening to some older Tool albums as of yesterday. I listened to Undertow and then Aenima and all I could think about was how much better they had gotten. It made me appreciate this new album so much more. They have really improved a lot musically and Maynard has improved a lot vocally as well. This new album is also very experimental compared to past efforts. I love it.

ArC 04-25-2006 06:03 PM

I hardly see anyone mention Salival anymore. It's right up there with 10,000 Days, Laterlus and Aenima for me.

omgwtfboogie 04-25-2006 06:29 PM

10,000 Days is freaking amazing. I've been listening to it nonstop to process everything, and it's growing so well. I have the melodies down, the transitions, and the energetic parts give me chills. My favorites are "Wings for Marie", "10,000 Days (Wings Part 2)", "Rosetta Stoned", and "Right in Two". I like "Vicarious" and "Jambi" for their energy, and the two "fillers" are even fun ("Lipan Conjuring" especially). I don't like "Vigniti Tres" though, sounds like a bad attempt at Lustmord.

Overall, really good. I think it has the ambition to be better than Lateralus to my ears, but since I grew so much with Lateralus this one will need some time to catch up.

Salival is a great release, but it can't really be considered a full-length.

Shadius 04-25-2006 06:41 PM
I hardly see anyone mention Salival anymore. It's right up there with 10,000 Days, Laterlus and Aenima for me.
I really love Third Eye and Pu**** on Salival, and Maynards Dick is quite cool, lol. You Lied and No Quarter never really did anything for me, but I havn't listened to them in a long time, so I'm not sure right now. LAMC and Merkaba are annoying though.

omgwtfboogie 04-25-2006 06:43 PM

As a whole, Salival has a lot of songs I repeatedly listen to. I just never considered it a release in the sense of Aenima and Lateralus...

Killtacular 04-25-2006 06:45 PM

No Quarter and You Lied are fantastic. You are silly.

omgwtfboogie 04-25-2006 06:46 PM

"You Lied"
"No Quarter"
"Pu****"
Maynard's Dick"
"Third Eye"
"Merkaba"

Are all really good songs. I'm not really into "Part of Me", but I think it's important that they can still look back on their older material like that. Shows a lot of growth and maturity.

deadohiosky9 04-25-2006 06:55 PM

The Salival/live versions of Third Eye, Pus'hit, and No Quarter are some of their best songs.

Shadius 04-25-2006 07:31 PM
No Quarter and You Lied are fantastic. You are silly.
I know I am. :(

YouGottaBeCrazy 04-25-2006 07:36 PM

"Wings For Marie"/"10,000 Days" is becoming one of my favorite Tool songs.
