Woodstock 03-12-2005 01:13 PM

I'm only 2 1/2 hours away from it. I went there when I was seven, but then it was a big waste of time since I wasn't really a music fan. I want to go back. :(

I really love the guitar sound on Led Zeppelin II. Does anyone know what setup Jimmy Page had on that album? I know he played a Les Paul.

Does anyone else like Led zep 2? Personally it's my favourite of their albums.

Quoted for the truth.

I like LZII.

Jam2Me 03-12-2005 05:55 PM

Duane Allman is in like every one of those guitarists lists....he absolutely should be too, but how many of those metal foos actually listen to ABB...I bet about 25% of the time he's mentioned the kids are doing it because everyone else is.

I'm kinda saddened by the fact no one mentioned Gary Rossington or Allen Collins from Lynyrd Skynyrd..even if you don't like Freebird they are pretty God**** good.

Yeah, the only punk I can say i get into is proto-punk such as the MC5 and the Velvet Underground. I like The Pogues though, they are sort of folk/punk with other influences.

It was my first LZ album, but I think I like I more. But II is unbelievable
I don't know if you guys knew this, but the 60's, 70's, and 80's are over. Let's try to live in the now. I enjoy Pink Floyd every now and then, but it's hard to get excited over bands that are never coming back. Sorry to burst your bubble and all
Hey i live the 60's and 70's in my head even though i wasn't there it's not dead, it just doesn't exsit in you mind frame

The first LZ album I bought was Houses of the Holy and I really like that album but when I bought Led Zeppelin II, that famous crunchy riff of Whole Lotta Love just blew my eardrums to pieces, I just had to air-guitar to it. Such an appropriate opening to a great album featuring some of my favourite LZ material, What Is and What Should Never Be, Thankyou, Ramble On, Heartbreaker are just standouts on what is a magnificent record.

It was mine too. It also converted me to classic rock. That trippy part in Whole Lotta Love blew my mind. Then there were those quick licks that Jimmy plays after. I thought how on earth is he doing that?

Heh heh now I know those licks.

I've been getting into some punk bands recently. I mean not pop punk, but like actual punk. Its not bad Anti Flag is a good band.

Word up.

Everyone says that LZ I and IV, but I never hear anyone talk about Physical Graffiti or Presence. Those have to be my favorite albums. Anyone else think that In Through the Out Door is a load of shiznit?

I think its one of the best albums of all time I mean besides live albums I've never seen that kind of in studio jamming where the rest of the band actually stops playing to let one of the other members have a solo.

I do like Physical Graffiti and I think it is an underated album which I could never find for a decent price so i just splashed the cash as I was recommended it by a mate. I haven't really heard the whole Presence album apart from a few select songs so I can't really comment on it. I don't really like Coda or In Through the Out Door all that much.

funkybeeatch14 03-12-2005 06:46 PM
EDIT: In Through The Out Door in the hizouse
Really? It all seems to me like a bunch of sloppy guitar playing, cheesy attempts at song variety, and synthezized garbage that Zep really isn't good at. Not saying I hate synth, I love Rush and Yes, but it's weird hearing the creators of such songs as "Bron-Yr-Aur" and "What Is And What Should Never Be" using a Moog.
