London Calling is also in the film what a girl wants and Rock The Casbah was on The Simpsons in one episode.
In King of the Hill that crazy asian guy (Con, I think that's his name.) was singing Rock the Casbah at a lawnmower focus group . |
i'm going to New York for a trip with the enriched english class in october (even if we wont be at this school anymore, just cause the teacher likes us) and I wanna go see the mural of Joe...I need to know where it is, so I can convince the teacher (who likes the clash) to go there. I NEED to go there...it's like...really important for me. So I hope the teacher will understand that.
It's in the East Village (Manhattan). |

I am going to get Sandinista!, and I think I'll end up liking it more than everything besides London Calling.
|
I don't think so.
|
Well, Junco Partner=amazing.
|
I have this C.D called Street Rats, it has live and demo's and stuff like that on it and I didn't realise that it has a live version of Junco Partner on there from the Jamacian Music Festival. It sounds good.

I've heard that cd and I was downloading it on slsk but it wasn't working, and the only file that worked was Junco Partner. If I remember to ask you, could you put that cd up in like a week? |
I'll put it in the Lets Get Physical thread, maybe tommorrow but my computer is pretty crap, so I don't know if it will work. I'll try though.
|
Yo, Coma Girl. Yeah all I have is Streetcore, I want more but something else always catches my eye when im at the store. Which album should I get next?

 it was a joke...if you read from page 4, you can see that the lamborghini guy is not our favorite drummer of all time...and we keep making jokes about him crashing his lamborghini. And I dont know what happenned to Keith after the clash... |

And I didn't know until a little while ago that he wrote (or at least helped write) What's My Name. |

Whoa...that's a relief  /me does some research on Keith Levene After The Clash, he worked with Sid Vicious. When he went to the Sex Pistols, and then died, Johnny Rotten and Keith worked on Public Image Limited. He continued to work with other punk bands, before starting a band with Glen Matlock in the late '90s. That folded, and now he works on a website called Missing Channel, as a "creative outlet." The more you know.... |
Ha, I was right!
And I posted first :D. |
whats the link to the website hes working on?
|
whats the link to the website hes working on?
I typed it in, and the "domain had expired." Huh. I dunno what the official name of the site is. |
I just read somewhere that the mescaleros were on the warped tour in 2001 or something  aaaaaaaaaah!
|
Are you serious?
|

|
There was this thing going on in the Songwriting Forum, best 100 Proffesional Songwriters of all time and Joe got third.
|
Who were the ones above him?
|
Dylan won (as he should have) and Lennon/McCartney were second.
|
Where was Cash?
I thought Paul Simonon was #98 for a minute... |
Wasn't in it.

Thats awesome. I'm going to find that thread. |
It's the top sticky in S & L.

Yea, I found it. I think they should have had it as Strummer/Jones though.
|
That's what I thought. The right person won though. I'm pretty sure Joe's a Dylan fan as he refers to Desolation Row in Coma Girl.

I agree with Dylan winning, but I would easily put Joe ahead of Lennon and McCartney. And who doesn't like at least one Bob Dylan song? The Hurricane is my favorite, and its a good movie as well. But this is the Clash thread, so I'll stop... |
I can't pick a favourite Dylan song but Desolation Row is definitely up there.

I gotta say, that's a damn good list. Three of my all-time favorites. But I can't believe they left out Johnny Cash, but kept that little Oberst bitch. |
