What, did they do it for halloween?
yeah, I took the bandana and a scream mask, put it on, started two stepping.

Then one kid ran up and punched both of them in the balls, then we somehow got into a game of punch each others balls as hard as you can, there was like 10 of us.

axeslinga_32 10-29-2004 11:04 PM

what is two stepping exactly? and where can iget some good video footage of hardcore dancing?

Watch the comeback kid - die tonight video, at the end, syncronized two stepping.
Yes, old school hardcore is correct. Rise Against can go in this thread, all hardcore is welcome. As for the American Nightmare songs, you said you checked out the music they made under Give Up the Ghost, meaning their last album, which they experimented very much on. That album isn't the best (it works, but not the best) for trying to figure out what hardcore is. Listen to "AM/PM" by them if you want an idea. The other reason GUTG/American Nightmare didn't sound like the bands mentioned is because they are modern hardcore, an evolved form of Black Flag, etc., and of course they are completely different from Rise Against and Strike Anywhere because melodic hardcore and hardcore are different genres.

PS. As long as we're on the subject, if you want a really good band that sounds like they came from the 80's hardcore punk scene, check out Hit the Deck.
Rise Against, Thought Riot, Protest The Hero, Pipedown, Strike Anywhere and bands like that I classify as political punkrock or melodic hardcore.
Lol a few kids at my school dressed up as fashioncore kids today with matching chick pants, chick jackets, and bandannas
I was going to do that for halloween, but two things stopped me.

1. I'd be wearing the costume at work. One guy at work said he was going to be, and I quote, "a hardcore emo kid". Don't need two of those.

2. I'm going to Poison the Well that night so... won't look like a costume.

 This is why Hawaii sucks.

BuddyBigsby 10-30-2004 01:10 PM

I really want to see that tour, I hope it comes out to Cali. Hatebreed have been one of my favorite bands since Satisfaction, and yet they've eluded me this whole time. I'm yet to see them. Full Blown Chaos' new album is so heavy, its ridiculous.

If SOIA aren't headlining, that's a bit messed up...

that tour is amazing, it doesn't come to philly though. it goes to allentown but i wouldn't be able to get there and that show is without SOIA i think. i'm seeing hatebreed at the stillborn fest though

yeah, but i'm guessing hatebreed will headline since they have a bigger fanbase. since they're on mtv2 a lot, a bunch of nu-metal and trendy kids like them too.

PlasticGangster 10-30-2004 01:23 PM

Fawk.
I wish that would come here

I still don't get what's so great about Terror.

Gotkookie 10-30-2004 01:53 PM
I still don't get what's so great about Terror.
Good fast dance music, they have fast breakdowns, which not many bands do.

cbmartinez 10-30-2004 01:57 PM

"Keep Your Mouth Shut" is one of the worst songs I've heard in a while.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-30-2004 02:14 PM

It's just good dance music and fight music.

maggot4875 10-30-2004 02:17 PM

i would call the old album metalcore. you really think the new album would be considered metalcore?

Let's Chop Cats! 10-30-2004 03:00 PM

Fashioncore....

We really need to think of a new genre for all this bad metalcore.

BuddyBigsby 10-30-2004 04:14 PM

How much (in the tr00 sense) hardcore do you listen to?

CONNER_NWHC 10-30-2004 04:15 PM

Terror is ok.

40 oz 2 freedom 10-30-2004 04:26 PM

I like Terror.

Quite a bit.

cbmartinez 10-30-2004 04:49 PM
How much (in the tr00 sense) hardcore do you listen to?
The Procedure?
The Suicide Machines?

Those are the only hardcore cds I have. I've listened to most of the stuff you hxc folks talk about on here. Carry On, Champion, Comeback Kid, Terror, Donnybrook, etc. I suck.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 10-30-2004 04:58 PM

I don't really like Terror either. I liked them for a while, but I don't really anymore...

Let's Chop Cats! 10-30-2004 05:18 PM

Suicide Machines aren't a Hardcore band.

American Nightmare
With Honor
Terror
Bane
Blacklisted

Those are some basic hardcore bands. Listen to them all.

PlasticGangster 10-30-2004 05:44 PM

Terror is amazing live.

Well, The Sucide Machines have some hardcore influence. I like Give Up The Ghost/American Nightmare. But Terror still just doesn't impress me.
