What "Queens Of The Stone Age" album should I get?
Either 'Rated R' or 'Songs for the Deaf'. Or you could wait a month for their new CD 'Lullabies to Paralyse'

Luxor 02-21-2005 03:05 PM

Too many choices! :(

YDload 02-21-2005 03:14 PM

I mean, come on! Can you really look at an album titled "Lullabies to Paralyze" and honestly say "This might not be that good?" I may have to pick this up someday, although I think I'd get SFTD first.

wheelz 02-21-2005 03:43 PM

the guys in the apartment above me woke me up by blaring deftones... so now i'm listening to them for the first time in god knows how long.

white pony is still great.

Zappa 02-21-2005 04:16 PM

I'll take some Deftones any day. :thumb:

Their self-titled didn't top White Pony, but I think it was still something to be proud of. They branched out a bit, I guess evidence of that could be represented by Hexagram. And, Minerva is one hell of a good song.

NineBitFable 02-21-2005 05:32 PM

Archers of Loaf

Zappa 02-21-2005 05:51 PM

Man, where do you live?

Tangy zizzle 02-21-2005 06:56 PM

I just saw Tori Amos on a Letterman replay, her new song was goodliness.

I am now listening to my Tori Amos collection. Boys for Pele is creepy.

Doctor D. 02-21-2005 06:59 PM

Why?
Buck 65

Tangy zizzle 02-21-2005 07:12 PM

You asking why Boys for Pele is creepy?

Or is that some obscure hip hop group?

Zappa 02-21-2005 07:13 PM
You asking why Boys for Pele is creepy?

The latter.

But according to Derek, it's more like They Might Be Giants. Or something like that...

Tangy zizzle 02-21-2005 07:17 PM

I knew it.

It seems to be all the rage these days.

I'm guessing they're white aswell?

Zappa 02-21-2005 07:31 PM

They're on Anticon.

So yes, they're white.

Bunch of racist bastards.

talk show host 02-21-2005 08:09 PM

Deftones are indeed awesome.

Zmev 02-22-2005 02:09 AM

Morphine right now, I found one of their posters on ebay. God I want it.

br3ad_man 02-22-2005 02:20 AM

I'm loving Interpol right now.

Tangy zizzle 02-22-2005 02:39 AM

KappaKid17 02-22-2005 09:51 AM

Hot Snakes is a good band.

If Tangy's leaving, I'm going to start having to find bands on my own...

indierockermatt 02-22-2005 10:20 AM

David Bowie. Everything.

DonMancini 02-22-2005 12:53 PM

Today is a Tangerine Dream day.

Bartender 02-22-2005 01:25 PM

Stuff from Amazon arrived today (just a bunch of CDs), so I'm listening to them. Only one I've listened to at the moment is Rob Dougan - Furious Angels.

dkmaddog 02-22-2005 02:24 PM

I have been listening to Robbers on High Street all day. They release their new album today so I am going to have to pick that up.

Swami 02-22-2005 03:44 PM

Cursive's Domestica
The Stooges - Metallic K.O

NineBitFable 02-22-2005 04:37 PM
Cursive's Domestica
The Stooges - Metallic K.O
Is Domestica as good as Ugly Organ? I've been looking into buying it for a while, but I'm a little hesitant.

Swami 02-22-2005 04:46 PM

Nope.

They're pretty different albums. Ugly Organ is so far ahead in all aspects. You'll find Domestica quite different because of the lack of Cello.

It's a really cool record, but Ugly Organ surpasses it.

Electrocution 02-22-2005 04:56 PM

No way. Domestica is 100 times better. The Ugly Organ is catchier, some songs are a little more upbeat, but Domestica...wow, raw emotion.

Swami 02-22-2005 04:59 PM

Your opinion.

I think Ugly Organ is more polished, but the emotions are a lot more raw. Kasher's basically laying himself out, whereas in Domestica he's kinda holding back.

Ugly Organ has a great sense of humour, and it's more angry and pissed off than the basic sadness that Domestica shows.

3rdplanet 02-22-2005 05:18 PM

Domestica is better.

Swami 02-22-2005 05:21 PM

I disagree.

But it is a cool album, all of Cursive's work is good.
