Yes,... these posts are more like it. Kudos to all! :)

This morning before work, I pulled out Revolver, plugged in my Hofner, and monkeyed around the frets. 'Tomorrow Never Knows' always stands out for me. The simplicity --- all it is, is a C chord in structure, bass is C only with the octave C as the accent --- coupled with the intricate dissonant backwards and forwards effects and surreal detached vocal, is a masterpiece. Always blows my mind that someone's mind could conceive such a impressionistic composition.

You're overrated!

And MYR, the Manson thing does slightly diminish the enjoyability of the song:(

pigonthewing82 04-30-2005 08:16 PM

To be honest, I think the Beatles are actually become ing UNDERrated. Not by our parents generation, but ours. Today it seems everybody who doesn't listen to classic rock (and even a few who do) see them as a stupid pop band, and only think of I Want to Hold Your Hand and songs like that, when they are SOOOOO much more.

blue3 04-30-2005 08:41 PM

A lot of people in my grade are now Beatles fans.. well they say they are, and they wear Beatles shirts and stuff but they've only heard of one song

Muddy Hendrix 04-30-2005 08:47 PM

I agree The Beatles are almost becoming Underated
It seems kids that happen to be classic rock fans would rather listen to Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath than John,Ringo,Paul, and George

Seafroggys 04-30-2005 09:01 PM

^^^Yeah, all the classic rock poser fanboys at my school are all BOC, Zepp, Sabbath, etc. though one of them actually has a Let it Be shirt, I was so surprised.

pigonthewing82 04-30-2005 09:09 PM

Pink Floyd sure seemed to be this years fan boy classic rock band, I've never seen so many Dark Side of the Moon Shirts.

Muddy Hendrix 04-30-2005 09:12 PM

Yeah
Dark Side of The Moon
1973 Tour shirts
They're everywhere, and the kids probably don't even know who Pink Floyd is.
It's pretty sad

TheDMV 04-30-2005 09:18 PM

Yeah, it's getting out of hand with these rock shirts. Probably because they sell them at Hot Topic. This kid actually had the nerve to ask me if I could name 3 Jimi songs when I had my new Hendrix shirt on. So I said Red House, 51st Aniversary, and Highway Chile. I'm sure he's never heard of any of them. :D

God dam fan boy!

Its ok I own one too, its not like its bad, its just what Pink Floyd fans relate the fan boy thing to.

DSOTM = Fanboy

The Wall =

I have a The Wall shirt.

And it's not that black one with the wierd statue thing and the hammers. It just has "Pink Floyd The Wall" in the script on the cover of the album.

I really like it.

If I were to get a PF shirt, it would have the pig floating near the smokestocks. That's bitchin.

Leper 05-01-2005 12:19 AM

I've got a pretty sweet "The Wall" shirt. It's like kind of a collage of images from the movie, and it say pink floyd the wall like on the album on the front and back. I love it, probably my favourite along with my doors shirt of Morrisson passed out on the stage and some of the lyrics to When you're strange on the back.

Yeah. Sabbath and Zep were great, don't get me wrong, but The Beatles were just as good, if not better. It seems a lot of kids don't think the Beatles are "tough" or "heavy" enough for them. Bah, make them listen to the White Album, and then tell me they weren't heavy in a way.

Leper 05-01-2005 12:52 AM

The beatles didn't have to be heavy, that's what's so unique about them. While other bands had to be heavier and more psycadelic to attract fans, the beatles could do whatever they wanted, and attract more fans.

heavy metal kid 05-01-2005 01:02 AM

Helter Skelter is a bit heavy, but the Beatles was about the music, that makes them the greatest band in history.

blue3 05-01-2005 01:13 AM

Helter Skelter is a good song

Leper 05-01-2005 01:47 AM
Helter Skelter is a good song
quite good, like most beatles songs.

GeorgeHarrison 05-01-2005 09:53 AM

I jusr learned it on guitar awhile back ago, my buddies and i like to play 10 minute versions of it in my basement. muhahah.

Everything on the White Album is awesome. Except Wild Honey Pie and Revolution 9. Probably my favorite Beatles album though, with Helter Skelter, Back in the USSR, Dear Prudence, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Sexy Sadie and the rest. Those are probably my favorites though.

*My favorites, plus Happiness is a Warm Gun

How can you say Revolution 9 isn't awsome? Granted, it's not a catchy tune, or a tune at all, but I still think the was it changes your perception is incredible. It's an audio trip

I can see how you wouldn't like Wild Honey Pie, but the solo at the end is quite bitchin, IMO

I actually thought Revolution 9 was awesome the first time I listened to it. It's not music, but I thought 9 minutes of just senseless talking was hilarious and brilliant. Now I think it's too long and skip over it sometimes.

Wild Honey Pie is growing on me a little but just doesn't compare to the rest of the album.

Ha, exactly, I always skip it over too, unless I am looking for it

Glitterati 05-01-2005 06:17 PM

I'm still working my way through the White Album, really. Back In The U.S.S.R. is one of the best album openers ever. I can't stand Wild Honey Pie, though
