How bad a permanent disability could you, as a muso, live with? Could you survive if you lost a hand? Both hands? A few fingers?

As a drummer, I have a few more things to loose - like ... legs (duh) :)

I'm sort of the same. I don't mind tattoos if they are on one side or the other. In fact, I like it that way and hope to get one like that.

Just, the head is like the most symmetrical part of your body (I know what I mean, and it kind of makes sense, like, more easily noticed, symmetrical reference points), so asymmetry can kiss my ***.

One hand/arm is about as far as I'd go before I sold all of my musical instruments or gave them to my kids in hopes of them continuing on where I left off.

I've actually always wanted to either lose a hand/arm or gain a third one.

LOL - yeah, ok - I haven't heard of many 3 armed bassists ... could be cool tho - tapping and slap/popping at the same time!

Just played (attempted) along to Juan Nelson (shall I repeat, THE coolest bassist) in Ben Haper Live from Hollywood Bowl, for like the 500th time. Well, at least I can make some sort of noise by thumb slapping every string; and a half decent slap from A. E is easy as. I just can't get it. GRH!

I had a pretty bad fall a few years ago and shattered my right wrist. It's ok now, as in I can still use it for most things (tho no hand stands!) but docs reckon there's a chance one day I might have to get it "fused" ... and there's a pretty good chance I'll get arthritis in it by the age of 30. Well so they reckon anyway.

So, if I have to get my right wrist fused - I am SO getting it done at an angle so I can continue to play bass. I don't care if it looks wierd. Of course, it means I won't be able to play the drums then - but I think I'd prefer bass over drums, especially as I would really need flexibility in my wrist to play drums decently ... so if I can't do it properly then not at all!

I'm so hungry, but I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for.
