Hey, its my opinion.. I don't think Load, Reload and St. Anger are good. And even if you do, you cannot consider Load and Reload metal... and not many people consider St. Anger to be a "king of metal" CD, even if they do like it.

Mulletking 11-27-2003 06:02 PM

*Turns on flamethrower and points it at St. Anger*
Why God, Why?

have you ever listened to an album before load?

manuscriptreplica 11-28-2003 09:10 AM

weey my first post in this thread
i feel so good now

anyways:
favourite song: probably One, maybe Orion, maybe anesthesia
fav. band member: cliffy burton RIP mate
fav solo: tapping one in One or anesthesia
fav riff: that one in Orion (from about 1:00 till 1:40)

thats about all i think... i have masters of puppets and the black album, oh yeah and i dont mind st anger ,i thought re-load was worse.

ok later

metalmegalomaniac 11-28-2003 09:30 AM

Metallica used to kick some serious ***.
And i think that they are gonna make
a huge comeback.
but thats just me going optimistic
(something that usually doesnt happen)...

It's still metal, doesn't mean load/reload is thrash metal, but it's metal alright.

Yes.. Kill'em All, Ride the Lightning, Puppets and ...Justice are all amazing CDS, as is the Black Album, and I have copies of each. Like I said, I feel that after that, Metallica started to suffer. I don't believe a band can be considered the kings of metal for songs they released more than 10 years ago. And bball_1523, do you seriously consider the songs Mama Said, Hero of the Day, Until it Sleeps and The Outlaw Torn are metal?

those are simple hard rock ballads that metallica love to make and what about thorn within, bad seed, house that jack built, wasting my hate, fuel, better than you? Those are some weird type of metal songs that only metallica can classify lol.

ONE_BASS 11-28-2003 06:47 PM

i love metallica all ............old, new no middle .........load, reload

i think lars has just been a replacement drummer for 20 years

mega_man 11-28-2003 07:36 PM

I liked old metallica better, i dunno why but their new stuff, like st. anger, just doesn't interest me. ...and justice for all was probably my favorite album (one!)

after their bassist left they kind of changed.
:(

Ya.. I don't even know what genre those songs are. Something between glam rock, metal, and classical rock.

Goose 11-29-2003 12:31 PM

there not glam rock thats just sickening. and just because they had long hair doesnt make them hair metal neither. they are just metal songs i suppose if anything. and also it isnt rite to say kill em all is one of metallicas best albums as david mustaine wrote some of the songs on it and also i heard they used some of his stuff on mop to which is just back stabbing. kick out your guitarist then use his music lol its pathetic.

superpeer 11-29-2003 12:34 PM

^
Not on master of puppets, they did use some of his stuff on Ride the Lightning

RockerGav 11-29-2003 12:40 PM

And a hell of a lot on Kill Em All. (seeing as it was the first studio album)

mister_riz 11-29-2003 12:44 PM

Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning are probably Metallicas best albums. Hehe.

creepingdeath328 11-29-2003 01:04 PM

does anyone else enjoy reload as much as i do? it seems like everyone hates it and thinks it crap. i like devils dance, unforgiven II, bad seed, where the wild things are, low mans lyric, well pretty much all the songs except for slither, attitude, and prince charming

maidenmaniac 11-29-2003 01:12 PM

Dude im really glad they made a Metallica the recent bashing is just to much. I really dont like the new album but my sense is their really trying to do something different. I mean Kirk has been playing solos for about 20 years now and i think hes tired of it. I think they all wanna try something new and compend them for that i may not like it but try to put yourself in their shoes. Well thanks guys i love old metalica i have all the albums awesome ****.

Your Evil Twin 11-29-2003 03:27 PM

i think Their best album is kill em' all, i play guitar and i love playing master of puppets

Also i've never met a drummer who can play dyers eve, its an awesome song, i dont expect to meet anyone who can play it, even metallica didnt play it when they went on tour for their ...and justice for all album.

The_Enforcer 11-29-2003 03:30 PM

I got a smile when I looked up St. Anger on Amazon and saw:

24 people recommended ...Baby One More Time [ENHANCED CD] in addition to St. Anger (with Bonus DVD) [EXPLICIT LYRICS]

Is this an appropriate recommendation?
73 people recommended ...Baby One More Time [ENHANCED CD] instead of St. Anger (with Bonus DVD) [EXPLICIT LYRICS]

Brahm_K 11-29-2003 07:09 PM

Yes, Reload does have glam rock elements in it. And I never even said they were hair metal because they had long hair. I never even said they were hair metal. At the time they did have long hair, they were thrash.

guitarded_chuck 11-29-2003 08:13 PM

I would like to mention how much St. Anger album blows. I love Metallica, but it is time they retire. If they make another crappy album they will start to loose fans.

RideTheSpiral 11-29-2003 11:28 PM

BUMP

Mmmmm page one....

RideTheSpiral 11-30-2003 11:27 AM

I'll keep bumpin' till Metallica threads stop a-thumpin'.

Goose 11-30-2003 12:00 PM

glam rock is a bunch of wusses in make up. ever see metallica in make up? make up as in made up like a woman not black eye linening and stuff. you cant say it takes music style or looks to be classed as hair metal or glam rock and stuff it takes both otherwise so many pop bands would be hair metal bands when there not. im just saying about hair metal because alot of people seem confused about that.

Ramsey 11-30-2003 10:56 PM

Bump-o-rama!!!

Arcarsenal Ghost 11-30-2003 11:55 PM

Chimaira, how did you MOP performance go?

kirk_hammet_wannabe 12-01-2003 09:33 AM

 MY GOD!!! Forgive me farther for I have sinned!

Master of puppets is one of my fav Tallica songs and one of the greatest heavey metal songs ever, but I literally dare anyone of you to download this particular version of it:

"Master Of Puppets Techno Remix By LuLu"

...Download that and if you havent killed yourself tell me wot u think of this criminal song:upset:

wheeluh_boy 12-01-2003 11:10 AM

Dude..what's wrong with u all??? metallica's metallica. through and through. if ya dont like the new stuff u were never a fan at all.

Steve DeBerg 12-01-2003 01:10 PM

I just downloaded a bunch of old thrash songs but six of 'em wouldn't burn onto my CD, I guese I'll never here call of the Ktulu. *cries*

i liked metallica's older stuff better than there new (who doesn't?), but my favorite song out of all would be master of puppets.

i like how it goes from there normal stuff in that song, to nice and soft and slow, then to unique solo's

i also like enter sandman, its a preety well balanced song.

lets try to keep this thread alive
Its a long story. It KINDA worked out. This dude already paired with this other guitarist (whos shit btw and has been playing for about a year) named Daniel. I come out of nowhere and play the song (Daniel can't play most of it, too) without much trouble and now the guy (who i'm supposed to perform with) wants me in BAD but he doesn't wanna let Daniel down. So we'll see what happens. The performance is in January. I'll keep you guys updated on what happens.

Ridethespiral: KEEP BUMPING!! WE MUST FIGHT THE N00BS!!

Carn 12-02-2003 07:20 AM

I play drums in a metallica cover band, I suck at it, haha. good guitarists tho.
