misfitsfan1990 10-11-2005 03:27 AM

i read an articale about danzig rejoining the misfits too, but when i read the graves storey it was far more belivable. It's gonna be super sweet if/when its announced officialy. Plus whoever said that jerry was a gd lead singer is toatally not a true fan of the misfits. anyway heres what i heard the new lineup was gonna be. BASS: Jerry only, VOCALS: Mikey graves and GUITAR: Dez Cadenza of black flag Drums: ?????

Steerpike 10-11-2005 07:34 AM

Robo rejoined the band to play the drums. He was around for Earth A.D.

Anyway, Danzig will most likely never rejoin the Misfits. Though he did perform one concert with Doyle last year.

Doyle I believe is still on hiatus to spend time with his family until the next tour. He and his wife had their first child a year ago, so he stepped out of the touring life to help raise his daughter.

I doubt any announcement will be official until all the tours of the involved musicians are over.

fatwreckpunk 10-11-2005 12:59 PM

i saw them play in the UK earlier this year and they were good with marky on drums, me and my girlfriend met marky and jerry which was pretty awesome, i thought it was a great show with all the classics, not quite the same as michale on vox etc but was good

Ghostfire3 10-11-2005 05:31 PM
$15 seems like a little much.
The Misfits show I'm going to in Chicago is gonna cost me $27, but that's because there's a bunch of other kick a'ss bands that are gonna be at this 2 day festival which is called Riot Fest. Such as, The Dead Kennedys, The Dickies, River City Rebels, The Suicide Machines, The Germs, The Bouncing Souls, Agent Orange, U.S. Bombs and more.

Liebensaft 10-11-2005 05:46 PM

Wow. That's awesome. I'd love to see that. Even though there's no Jello or Darby Crash.

comptonassrobert 10-11-2005 05:52 PM

Ahh I found out today that Danzig will be on vocals!!! Is that true?

Jaw, Knee, B. Goode 10-11-2005 08:02 PM

I doubt it.

TakeWarning 10-11-2005 08:04 PM
Ahh I found out today that Danzig will be on vocals!!! Is that true?
Probably not. I think the reason he left the band was because of huge arguments and I think there was a legal battle too.

AIRIC 10-11-2005 08:04 PM

Yeah, doubt it.

Ghostfire3 10-11-2005 08:56 PM
Ahh I found out today that Danzig will be on vocals!!! Is that true?
I'm pretty sure it's true. I read an article about it in Guitar World, but it doesn't say anything about it on their website.

Not shure its posable but dont get your hopes up

TakeWarning 10-12-2005 01:31 AM

Hehe, I just looked at yesterday's paper and on page 7 there was Boy George wearing a misfits shirt.

Rootsradical 10-12-2005 01:56 AM
Hehe, I just looked at yesterday's paper and on page 7 there was Boy George wearing a misfits shirt.
Everyone likes the misfits, even the crazy people. Imagine seeing Boy George listening to Last Caress and singing along to it.

comptonassrobert 10-12-2005 11:05 AM

Well I went last night, and despite some idiots there, it was fuckin awesome. Danzig wasn't there =/ I also read it in the guitar world magazine but I guess what that is is Danzig reuniting with Doyle and just doing a buncha misfits songs, not him actually joining back with the misfits. Two of the opening bands were pretty crappy hardcore bands, but the third metal band Sickle was really good. And then after an hour of waiting for them to setup, they came on and opened with Halloween (!!!!!). The stage was like some freakin play or something, it was awesome. They ended with Last Caress and then came back with an encore playing Green Hell and ending with Die Die My Darling.

oh i'm sorry for the bad english but i'm italian.... :)

comptonassrobert 10-12-2005 04:32 PM

Welcome to MX =]. There's a lot of house, electronic music here too in the nightclubs and all that stuff, but rock/punk concerts are big.

Misfit_Fiend 10-12-2005 09:08 PM

I think the current Misfits should be called the Onlyfits or Misflags

Who gets my witty joke?

comptonassrobert 10-12-2005 10:24 PM

They played an awesome cover of Rise Above last night if that's what youre getting at. haha

AntiPoliceAggro 10-13-2005 01:57 AM

99% 15 year olds, with 1% crusty old guys.

You can identify a crusty old guy by the Dead Boys pin on his black leather motorcycle jacket and switchblade in his pocket.

No need to worry about being seen by el33t punX going to/coming from this show. They wouldn't be caught dead within 5 miles of this.
They're "far too core" to be anywhere near the "Onlyfits".

whiteminority 10-13-2005 07:49 AM

Drop The Baby 10-13-2005 07:50 AM

fatwreckpunk 10-13-2005 12:17 PM

i was told about that by my sister

Oz Rembrandt 10-13-2005 12:41 PM
yeah i saw that.
Me too. I have that T-Shirt...

RetiredAt21 10-13-2005 12:57 PM

He shouldn't be allowed to wear a Misfits shirt.

Misfit_Fiend 10-13-2005 02:59 PM

That's a fashion crime!

comptonassrobert 10-13-2005 04:24 PM

Well ya know, I don't really care how many "core" people were there, or how many "true punx" were there or whatever, cause it was a damn good show and everybody was enjoying it.

Oi Punk 10-13-2005 08:53 PM
So yeah, I'm going to be seeing the Misfits at the Carven Concert Hall in Modesto tomorrow  . This'll be my first real punk show apart from a Lower Class Brats show I went too (I'm more of a rock&metal guy..). What should I expect from this? I know it's going to be packed. Is it pretty rough? As in, a buncha skinhead retards elbowing everybody etc.?

Also, discuss other classic punk shows you've been to/are going to.
misfits suck

Culture Shock 10-13-2005 08:55 PM
misfits suck
...and so he was born.

fatwreckpunk 10-14-2005 02:46 AM

misfits do suck now though, he is right in a way. They are so past it and there really is no point in them doing more. That band is being milked out to the fullest potential and they will still be doing this when they are in their 60's... wait they are almost there

Imstillwasted 10-14-2005 09:53 AM
The Show=Suck. I'm pretty sure Jerry is the only remaining member, and he is way past his prime. There prob will be skinheads (not the nazis). There will be punks. There will be trendy goth kids. It shouldn't be that bad as far as being "rough". Just stay on the outside if you are scurred.
No matter what you can't deny he's always kicked *** on bass and still does, so there goes that. And all his years of experience wiil just make any show better cause he really knows what he's doing.

national_chaos_jolliffe 10-14-2005 11:55 AM

a proper punk band

gabbahey there we go 10-14-2005 03:25 PM

yah man, jerrys all thats left, and like someone said, not even he is like he used to be... man all the good bands are dead

AGAINSTME!'sbass 10-14-2005 06:13 PM

The new Misfits makes me sad!

FyrrInMyArse911 10-15-2005 01:38 AM

the new misfits are awful, what happened to the old days with danzig?

Scream is the only good newer song.

Sebek 10-15-2005 01:56 AM

I only like a handful of Misfits songs anymore. I used to be big on them, but I meh at them now.

Despite what a lot of people bitch about, I think Grave's voice fit really well with their style. Not to say I didn't like the Danzig days though.

TakeWarning 10-15-2005 02:27 AM

Listening to Astro Zombies now. I don't listen to them enough.

RetiredAt21 10-15-2005 10:01 PM

Who the f'uck said Jerry Only is a good bass player? That statement is false. All he does is play root notes. He sucks at bass.

blackflagfiend 10-16-2005 11:47 AM

^^^isnt that the point of punk, that you don't need to be good to rock out?

comptonassrobert 10-16-2005 12:25 PM
Who the f'uck said Jerry Only is a good bass player? That statement is false. All he does is play root notes. He sucks at bass.
You don't need to be extremely technical to be good. The old man's got some speed on him!! He has a weird playing style too, he kinda like slaps it, but with his whole hand, and fast.

Sebek 10-16-2005 12:31 PM

Listening now.

This brings back some memories, even if it's the "starter" punk band for a lot of people, I still think it's great stuff. . .for the most part.
