I don't think it's over produced at all. The effects they put in compliment the songs completely, the mix is evenly balanced, nothing overshadows, it isn't muddy, yet it isn't too crisp, just crisp enough. The low end is just right where it isn't over bearing, but it sounds full. I thought they did a great job with the production.

Teeb 10-20-2005 03:04 PM

I was hoping "Name and Address Withheld" would be different from the one on the G7 comp.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 10-20-2005 03:35 PM

I want to buy it, but I'm saving for the new xbox :(

I just think there's a little of rawness lost in the production, but it's still great.

Rockafella 10-20-2005 03:43 PM

I saw it at a record store a week ago for $14.99 and I didn't buy it because I am cheap.

lynch_me 10-20-2005 04:36 PM

Once again, if you hate it so much then stop posting in here. I think it's a great CD. It took me a few listens to get to know the songs, and now I've listened to it everyday.

I only have TETA and i just borrowed where quantity is #1. What OTHER album of theres should i buy, i'm thinking either HTCE or PCL, anyone have any suggestions?

Anyway, to my understanding, they are a canadian band. From Canada. So why the hell are all of their albums about America? Isn't anyone else bothered by this? I mean, unless they have American citizenship or something but if they really want to make a difference, shouldn't they be doing it in the country they live in?

Buy them both, but if you only have enough for one album, buy; HTCE if you prefer pop-punk, PCL if you prefer it a bit heavier.

I noticed this too, it's really strange. Maybe they are more worried about the injustices in the USA, because that affects alot more people, whereas maybe Canada is politically very stable.

That's just a wild guess though.

in a interview chris said that canada is just the "small" version of the usa
so they have songs about the us because what they do affects morepeople

Not nearly as annoying as you.

I am joking around with users, so what? Oh the irony in why I hate your guts with a passion is because your 'quite annoying.' Don't tell other people why you think they're not mature.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 10-22-2005 09:34 AM
Its less then 20 bucks, it won't affect your savings that much.
It will effect my savings quite a bit. I've been saving for about a month, and I've got 45 dollars.

so? who says you have to be a citizen of the country you want to criticize? and in the case of Propagandhi, most of the issues they raise are more global problems than domestic ones. even still though, a good portion of their lyrics does in fact take on Canadian issues ("Bringer of Greater Things", on the new album for example)

Bukowski 10-22-2005 10:52 AM

I know i'm late, but i listened to the album for the first time yesterday, and it is awesome. I'm undecided as to whether or not it's better than Today's Empires Tomorrow's Ashes, which is testament to just how good it is. The first 6 songs are all fantasic, and the drumming at the start of Superbowl Patriot XXXVI is fucking insane. All in all, i think it's been worth the wait.

I don't think it's weird at all; you shouldn't either if you're an American. Our country criticizes just about every other country and how they are run, or are completely apathetic and couldn't care less about how their own country is run, never mind the world.

With all that aside, the problems they talk about are indeed more global (as stated before) than singular. I mean, even things that seem singular typically aren't for the US. The most powerful nation on Earth has that title for a reason; just about everything we do effects the rest of the world. You have to expect criticism when that's the case. So again, I wouldn't say that having a Canadian band criticize us is odd or bothersome at all. Besides, they have plenty of criticism in their albums about various countries as well, Canada included.
