Anyhoo....Has anyone heard the song ten speed of gods blood and burial (off of the upcoming CD)? If so, what did you think of it?
I'm pretty sure he said the song was called something like that when I saw them on Saturday. They played two more new songs too but didn't mention the names, I liked them all though, they sounded a bit more proggy than some of their other stuff. |
hey baby, hows it goin?
It goes well. That rash you gave me finaly went away, but I think I may have caught The Clap... :amaze: Yeah... I couldn't pass it up... |
they are a really ****ing amazing band.
i have both albums, the second stage turbine blade on vinyl as well. i also dig lots of shabutie's stuff to, so if you dig coheed, defintely check them out too.
Um... They're the same band... they just changed their name quite some time ago. |

Those 2 other songs were probably covers they just started doing at concerts....Kashmir from black sabbath and the final cut from pink floyd.
Um... They're the same band... they just changed their name quite some time ago.
I think shabutie was Claudio and Mic, and 2 other guys, but then they changed the lineup and the bands name and started making concept albums. EDIT: OH SHIII!!!! Kasmir isnt a cover, it just has the same name. It was originally called "anything for you", and theres some other song called "so tell all your friends". |

No they were definitely new stuff and it was definitelty their own. Claudio said that they were going to playing some new stuff as soon as they came on but he only mentioned the name of that one song. |

Check my edit above you: Kasmir isnt a cover, it just has the same name. It was originally called "anything for you", and theres some other song called "so tell all your friends" (also an unofficial title) which is probably now officially called final cut. |
They don't really sound like epic enough titles for CoCa, where'd you get that information from?
|
It was on the live downloads page on cobaltandcalcium.com. They have tons of live shows, and those were songs that ive never seen before. Seeing the names, i assumed they were covers of sabbath and pink floyd. But then i scrolled down and saw that they used to be named something else, so those were original songs with the same name.
Yeah, but i still think "the final cut" sounds kinda epic. And if the album has a title track....Jesus christ, thatll be a bitch to type everytime we talk about it. |
Ok cool then, they may still be tentatively titled or something; they changed the album name from Hello Appolo, I'm Still Burning Star: 4 to Good Appolo, I'm Burning Star 4, Volume 1: Into The Madness so I guess the song titles could changed too. And agreed that'll be a bitch of album title.

Actually, the album title is"Good Apollo, I'm burning star 4, Volume 1: From Fear Through the eyes of madness" And you cant forget that IKSOSE was orignally called "upper armories of the third deep", and the crowing was "watch over me". |
Actually, the album title is"Good Apollo, I'm burning star 4, Volume 1: From Fear Through the eyes of madness"
Oh yeah, that's what he says on the DVD isn't it? Well anyway, the end part was originally just Into The Madness but they changed it again.
And you cant forget that IKSOSE was orignally called "upper armories of the third deep", and the crowing was "watch over me".
I've heard about IKSOSE before and I think that "Upper Armories Of The Third Deep" sounded cooler but, oh well. Didn't know about The Crowing though. |
Speaking of the crowing, i just learned it one bass.
And is it me, or do claudios eyes look satanic when he does delirium trigger live? They look glazed over and he has all these veins poppin' out of his neck. |
Ahh, the more i listen IKSOSE3, the more i love it, its awesome. I so wish i went to see them on friday now :upset:
|
IKSOSE gives me the chills when i listen to it live. The screaming is so perfect, and the crowd chanting at the end is awesome.
|
Is the live DVD/CD whatever it is out?
|
Yeah, since March.
I had a review of it a few pages back. |
Oh, cool. Is it a dvd, or cd, if its cd am gonna buy it.
|
Both....and it should be around 15 bucks (US), so you might as well get it. It includes their videos and interviews with the band, along with footage from the skat and surf festival.
|
Yeah, i will do,
Cludeo has a great vioce (i cant spell it :) ) |
C-l-a-u-d-i-o (You were close enough)
And i think Mic is the best screamer ive ever heard. |
I think Mike is kinda annoying sometime. He's not very good at bass and his screams are annoying, and he's pretty stupid. I know that sounds pretty mean, but Coheed needs some better basslines (everything evil). I saw them in concert and bass wasn't even like THERE.

He needs to be better at bass? neverender 33 Time consumer Delirium trigger The crowing godsend conspirator IKSOSE:3 the verse to faint of hearts And if youre saying everything evil has a crappy bassline....Its actually hard in the chorus, you just cant hear it. And yes, you cant hear the bass in concert. He doesnt seem like the brightest bulb in the box to me, either. And how are the scream annoying? I love those screams. |
hes awesome to watch play, his hands move crazy fast. and the bassline to "Blood Red Summer" is so simple but so great, could you imagine that song without it
|
The bass on Second Stage is way better than on In Keeping Secrets. I don't know what happened really but I hope it improves again on Good Apollo.

The bass is just a root note of claudios part, and most people mistake the bassline as what travis' part is.
The bass on Second Stage is way better than on In Keeping Secrets. I don't know what happened really but I hope it improves again on Good Apollo.
So very, very true. |
I listend to the song "Devil in jersey city" ... first I wasn't very impressed, but listening the second and the third time, it's getting better and better, now it's a song i listen every day! respect, there aren't many songs, to which I listen so often.
but the whole album "the second stage..." is not a very great one i think, there is not so much tempo i would like. But the song "a favor house atlantic" is nice too, but it isn't on the album |
I just got into this band and I like them alot.
|
i like some of their stuff

I bought the Live at the Starland Ballroom DVD Friday. It's really good. I wish it was longer though... :upset: |
Coca is quite addictive. The new album is going to be incredible, because Claudio said that they have really had time to work on this one, rather than on the last release which was actually mostly written in the studio. It would be better to list the songs by them I don't like than a favorite because the list would be very short. Think I'm gonna listen to them right now. Oh and make sure you get the version of time consumer with the solo by Dr. Know I just recently got the right version and it is incredible.
|
Just got the DVD. Can't wait for their new album.

The album version has the solo by Dr. Know as far as I'm aware. |
Hm, maybe i should listen to this album some times again
|
Yeah keep listening to it; the whole thing will grow on you eventually. I like every song now and I didn't at first.
|
I think that IKSSE:3 is a lot easier on the ears and grows on you faster than SSTB. Man, I love Co and Ca...

correctomongo.
I think that IKSSE:3 is a lot easier on the ears and grows on you faster than SSTB. Man, I love Co and Ca...
Nice to see you're still breathing. Everybody.....whats the one coheed and cambria song you absolutely CAN NOT stand to listen to? I personally like everything theyve released, but i guess ill have to pick one to be fair: Neverender. Seems shocking, i think its a good song and all, but i just cant get to far into it without skipping to the awesomeness that is godsend conspirator. Oh, and i downloaded Elf tower, NM. Claudio gets pretty high pitched on this song, and i personally love it. And i got cassieopia.....which was kinda a letdown compared to elf power. |
Dude, Neverender is incredible.
Just listen to the chorus. I love it so much. The song I like the least is probably Cuts Marked In The March Of Men, I can't even remember how it goes! |

And how can you not remember how CMITMOM? I think that was one of the best songs on IKSOSE. |
again, i try to join in, but cannot think of a song i dislike...
|
Devil In Jersey City has started to get on my nerves a bit recently, I guess I've just heard it too many times.
