To all those Thunderstruck-Blabbing-Idiots (no offense): in the studio version of Thunderstruck, he picks every single note of the intro. In his early days, he used one hand live. And now in his present days, he picks every note once again. Watch Stiff Upper Lip Live and this will prove it. Also, I read an article with Angus saying he picks every note in the Thunderstruck studio version.
not just SUL, Live form donington too! first song he picks every note |
Reall sorry that this is off-topic, but, AB/CD, where do you live, Texas?
i'm from texas will ac/dc be coming? |
he never played thunderstruck with 1 hand donington was released around the same time as the razors edge he picked every note on that also on no bull he picked every note in it
Yes but it is possible to play it one handed. Ive seen it done.
Of course its possible. I play it both ways, just whatever one I feel like. Both sound correct but a little different. Just by the sound you can tell he picks it on the album. Anyone here a fan of Powerage? It's my most recent AC/DC purchase and its awesome.
I dont actually have Powerage but it will be the next album I buy.

Could you give me a link to a tab for thunderstruck? |
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/a/ac_dc/thunderstruck_tab.htm
It has the intro with hammer ons and pull offs but you can pick it if you want. |
Isnt that the easy way? I thought there was a harder and therefore better way of playin it.
TNT is way better than powerage
The only reason they got repetitive is because Bon Scott died. When brain Johnson took over they still rocked yes but they were not as good as they were when Bon Scott was singing.
that makes no sense becos they get a new singer they get repetitive? they arent repetitivs every album is different unless u have listened to eery album several times u dont notice this

123 their not repetitive even though their best lead singer died. i do think though they lost a little edge when they got brian johnson.....hes not a bad singer but he is defintly not the greatest. ac/dc will always rock. |
brian isnt as good a singer as bon yes i agree but brian helped the band through their career most people seem to prefer brian to bon all becos of what i consider the worst album they made being back in black some albums do sound the same tho if u listen to highay to hell then back in black few similarities there i think
back in black= way too over rated
Look at my username, it may seem like I don't like AC/DC but I do.
yes back in black is too overrated becos it was a tribute to bon the album is complete and utter crap the only good song off it is rock n rol aint noise polution and ven that isnt their best work
True but it is still a good album. You have to give it that. And if anyone asked me what their first AC/DC album should be I would tell them either Highway to Hell or Back in Black depending on their favourite singer.

You Shook Me All Night Long pwns Rock n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution. :p |
I am getting sick of Shook me all night long.
you shook me al ngiht long has the arse riped out of it completely its arse doesnt even exist anymore.
and i wouldnt recomend highway to hell to any1 after a bon scott album id recomend if you want blood prob the best live album ever and then for anybody wanting a brian album id recomend flic of the switch good album and no1 takes any notice of it nnd always say its **** cos of production p.s sorry for my very bad typing keys get stuck alot and i miss alot of them |
No I meant just as a first album. My favourite with Bon is Let there be Rock.
People who say AC/DC sucks balls probally do suck balls. Angus is a good guitar player and so is Malcom. I mean without them how would we know thunderstruck or back in black.
yea I agree... not great but they're fine to listen to on occasion.
in my opinion bon scott's highlight or most talked about album is highway to hell............brian johnsons highlight album is ofcourse back in black. Bon scott ended with a bang.....as for brian johnson he started good but i doubt he will do any better, thats why angus young is basically the image of ac/dc.
Brian did Razors Edge that was pretty good.

Together Malcolm and Angus created good solid rock n roll riffs, famous simple riffs played at eardrum blowing volume. They are simple but great and stick in your head allowing you to really get into the music. Great anthems such as Whole Lotta Rosie, Thunderstruck, Riff Raff, Jailbreak, Let There Be Rock and the list goes on have been created by these two brothers, it really is great stuff, without AC/DC I don't know where I'd find the raw rock n roll i get my kicks from. |
every song u just listed is crap apart from riff raff and jailbreak
I like AC/DC but unfortunately their style becomes redundant very quickly, and there aren't many of their albums that don't have a fair share of filler tracks.
Good band for simple, balls-out rock, though. |
every song u just listed is crap apart from riff raff and jailbreak
Whats wrong with Let There Be Rock? |
angus young is one the most underated guitarist i mean he was way better than jimy hendrix in my book and he gets **** acdc is one the most creative and most succesful bands there is they have made alot of good songs and theyre songs do not sound the same i have to admit maybe some might have a similar rift but they are all unique and when they added brian jhonson to the mix after bon scotts death it was a perfect combination ACDC IS AN AWSOME BAND if they sucked they wouldent be in the rock n roll hall of fame they deserve it ,ACDC RULES
IT TAKES GREAT SKILL TO BUST OUT SOMTHING LIKE THUNDERSTRUCK THE FINGER WORK IS PERFECT TOTAL SKILL and brian delivers with the awsome raspy volcals if u dont like ACDC please die
AC/DC is my favorite band, and my favorite album being LET THERE BE ROCK!
People say Angus has little talent, but those people have never seen Angus play live...his 8-minute long solos in the middle of such songs as Jailbreak, Let there be rock, etc. Take for example Kirk Hammet....a guitarist which many of my friends think is far, FAR superior to Angus Young. I saw Kirk hammet play live, right in front of my eyes on Oct 27th 2004. He was playing like 10 feet away from me. Yeah, yeah he had is wah wah and stuff up there and I was not very impressed with his solo(s). It was absolutely nothing in comparison to Angus Young's live solos. (Not that im saying Kirk Hammet is a bad guitarist or anything, Metallica is one of my favorite bands) i'm just saying that Angus Young clearly deals out some very skillful playing when he plays those solos, with no backup guitarists, wah wah pedals, distortion pedals, wammy bars, or any type of device...it's just him..and his SG... |
totally agree man angus doesnt use distortion pedals wammy bars or any thing just plain old gibson sg and he can still bust out increadibly long and awsome solos and he has his very own signature sg its totally awsome cearly angus young is one of the most underated guitarist he should always be on the top ten guitarist list
