^^^

Cronis is a preety good vocalists, but Lemmy...i have to aggree, he really has an awful voice, lol. it fits their music, but still....the man really cant sing worth a ****. Chuck , Dave, and Paul i love though :thumb: :)

deftoned 02-02-2004 03:50 AM

Yeah, I think the dude meant in singing ability, but in thrash..you don't need ia great voice too much..look at Tom Araya, possibly the worst voice ever. It **** well matches the brutality of the music though, but listening to him scream in 'Angel of Death' cracks me up. Best bass player? Definitely not Tom either hehe. Ellefson is definitely up there, but there are a couple of people who have him beat.

ThrashMaster27 02-02-2004 03:57 AM
Right! That's it!!! Outside! Now! I'm going to have to show you a thing or two!!!

Cronos crap? Lemmy crap???!!!!! Paul Baloff and Chuck Billy crap??!?!!! Are you out of your mind?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am I using too many exclamation marks?! Well yes I am!!! But I don't care!!!! BECAUSE CRONOS IS NOT CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!
Well that's my opinion....I love the music and I actually like the vocals. Hmmm I shouldn't have opened my mouth...I basically meant that they fit the style of the music well, but they ain't to great in the vocal department.

Arse! I can't explain myself.

Care to elaborate on the best Bassist then?

metdrummer 02-02-2004 04:04 AM

wow this thread has turned into the official thrash thread

JMetallica 02-02-2004 04:12 AM

Best drummers are Dave Lombardo, Gene Hoglan, and if you consider old Mercyful Fate Thrashy, then Kim Ruzz would have to be my favourite thrash drummer.

As for the vocalists, well lmao, not too many thrash vocalists are technically good, but their voices suit the music right to the bone, which was the point i think thrashmaster was making? I've always loved baloffs vocals (screams?). I also enjoy most thrash vocals of the european persuasion. Angelripper, Schiemer, Mille, Warrior, Ron Broder... I love them all :D.

Jondur 02-02-2004 04:24 AM

Cronos is god. Criticism isn't allowed.

Best drummer - Bostaph, Hoglan, Benante
Best Vocalist: Neil Turbin, Tom G Warrior
Best Bass Player: I count Sadus as thrash more than death so Steve Digorgio

Now I know someone wants to do best guitarist!

ps it's Mustaine.

JMetallica 02-02-2004 04:43 AM

Mustain is good, but Tommy Vetterli is God.

Yeah, you got it dead on there. haha I like Baloffs voice.....he puts a lot of passion into it, that's for sure.

metdrummer 02-02-2004 04:58 AM

Dave Lombardo =

metdrummer 02-02-2004 05:00 AM
Best drummer - Bostaph

Jondur 02-02-2004 05:13 AM

Controversial I know, but I think that technically Bostaph is better.

metdrummer 02-02-2004 05:16 AM

Ok, thats your opinion and im cool with that... But personally i think Lombardo is the better man.

Jondur 02-02-2004 05:34 AM

It is obvious that Lombardo fits the band better but when you listen to Divine Intervention there's some pretty crazy stuff on there. Songs like Killing Fields are more complex than anything Dave has done with Slayer, Grip Inc, Fantomas, Testament or whoever.

LordDargon 02-02-2004 08:55 AM

Drummer - Benante, and also Andy Galeon, I mean the stuff he did on The Ultra-Violence was not the greatest ever, but he was like 13 or 14 at the time. So that's pretty amazing.

Guitarist - Skolnik, although King and Hanneman make an unstoppable team.

Bassist - I dunno, maybe Newstead, he did some great stuff with Flotsam.

Vocalist - Now this is hard... I dunno

And also, i'm getting tired of my avatar. The RiB cover art sucks. It looks like friggin' Salvador Dali or something. Anyways would you guys kick me out me if I used Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines instead? If it HAS to be thrash I can use PS...BWB?

Rattlehead 502 02-02-2004 09:23 AM

I wanna join to, I've been listening to trash metal sinds I was 13.

Dave Mustaine was influenced by Bathory???!! Must be those Viking moments, epic instrumentals and black hearted screams that I've never heard on any Megadeth album.

Rattlehead 502 02-02-2004 09:46 AM

Yes dave mustaine sayd that on an interview. He was a big fan of bathory and venom, both blackmetal bands. Dave also sayed that the song "good morning black friday" is some sort of thrash metal black metal mix. I'm not making this up.

Rattlehead 502 02-02-2004 09:51 AM
And its THRASH not Trash for the seventeen millionth time
sorry dude take it easy

LordDargon 02-02-2004 09:52 AM

Rattlehead 502 02-02-2004 09:54 AM
^^ Uh... that must have been back in his pothead days. I fail to see how GM/BF has ANYTHING to do with Black Metal.
what does GM/BF mean?

LordDargon 02-02-2004 09:55 AM

^^ Good Mourning Black Friday.

Rattlehead 502 02-02-2004 09:58 AM

ah, ok. I fail to see that to, but dave said it in an interview so... I don't know, but old skool black metal is a lot different then the new black metal like immortal or CoF

LordDargon 02-02-2004 10:00 AM

^^ Yah, cuz CoF is crappy fake BM. :p

Rattlehead 502 02-02-2004 10:03 AM

LordDargon 02-02-2004 10:06 AM

Ontario Canada, and as I already explained about 10 pages back, it's spelt ar not ra
