If you can, let me know what they're saying in the intro to a lot of the songs, I'm actually interested in that.
How do you guys Feel about His Hero is Gone? More Thrash like, but worth mentioning.
His Hero Is Gone rules. I think I like Tragedy just a smidge more, though.

Elliptical Ion 03-02-2007 09:32 PM

This should be renamed the "Official Powerviolence/Thrash Thread". Solely because that's really all that's been discussed since I joined haha. And because there are only so many actual "Powerviolence" bands and only so many things that can be said about each of them.

RetiredAt21 03-02-2007 09:34 PM

True. Anyone like In/Humanity? I personally think they are grrrrreat.

Elliptical Ion 03-02-2007 09:39 PM

I've heard of them, but haven't actually gotten around to listening to them. Got a link?

Aus Rotten 03-02-2007 11:32 PM

In/Humanity is great stuff. I've got "The History Behind The Mystery" on vinyl, good stuff. Oh, and I don't really like His Hero Is Gone. I don't know why, but I just can't really get too into them. Tragedy I dig too, but am definately not in love with. Tradegy are just manageable in my book.

RetiredAt21 03-03-2007 08:00 AM

How can you not like His Hero Is Gone? Maybe you listened to the wrong album.

Concubine 03-03-2007 08:50 AM

All their albums are good tbh

RetiredAt21 03-03-2007 09:05 AM

Indeed, but some are better than others. Fifteen Counts Of Arson is definitely their best. The song "Epidemic" is incredible.

Elliptical Ion 03-03-2007 09:25 AM

All I have is The Plot Sickens and I love it.

RetiredAt21 03-03-2007 09:58 AM

Dude, you should seriously get Fifteen Counts Of Arson.

Concubine 03-03-2007 09:59 AM

Damnit, i havent got that one

Elliptical Ion 03-03-2007 09:59 AM

I'll look into it.

RetiredAt21 03-03-2007 10:00 AM

It's heavy as fuck.

I'm wearing a HHIG shirt right now. Best crust band ever.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I think it's a tie between His Hero Is Gone and Blacken The Skies.

AIRIC 03-03-2007 02:48 PM

His Hero Is Gone are kind of overrated but they're definintely good. I kind of grew out of them I guess. 15 Counts Of Arson is my favorite.

Tragedy are absolutely hands down amazing though. The intro on "The Point Of No Return" is one of the most br00tal intros I've ever heard.

whiteminority 03-03-2007 02:54 PM

Even though it's only a 7" Dead of Night in Eight Movements is my fav HHIG. Not to big on Tragedy.

AIRIC 03-03-2007 02:56 PM

It's enjoyable but I feel it's kind of "underdeveloped" if that makes sense.

agreed, 100%. HHIG I believe is overrated as well. Tragedy > anyways.

Times Ten 03-04-2007 09:38 AM

If you ask me TRAGEDY is overrated. They are still really good, but they got everyone all over their nuts.

Best avatar, ever.

Tragedy rules, Ben!

whiteminority 03-04-2007 12:30 PM

Just can't get into 'em.

RetiredAt21 03-04-2007 04:55 PM

To be honest, I wasn't very into them at first. But I love them now.

Aus Rotten 03-04-2007 05:05 PM

True, they grew on me as well. Did anyone else check out Domestik Doktrin and find that they were a bit slow? I listened to that album Eliptical Ion posted, and the album did have some high points, as in "95% Metal, 5% Temper..." (the rest of the song title got cut off :upset: ) but overall, it was a bit too slow for my liking. Overall, I wasn't very into it, and didn't dig it too much. Maybe i'll give it a listen down the road, and see if it'll grow on me, much like Tragedy did.

RetiredAt21 03-04-2007 08:52 PM

Tragedy is one of my favorite bands now.

Elliptical Ion 03-08-2007 10:07 AM

Anyone like Real Reggae? I'm talking about the Band, not the genre. Think Bob Marley with a Thrash twist. They even do a cover of Bob Marleys "I Shot The Sheriff", titled "Eye S the S". It's actually not bad at all.

RetiredAt21 03-08-2007 11:34 AM

Never heard.
