Metal, Hard Rock, Crap.
Don't care to much about their exact genres, but hardcore they are not. |
So you're telling me Norma Jean, The Number Twelve, As I Lay Dying, Darkest Hour, and Every Time I Die.....non of them are any form of hardcore?
If not, then yeah, I guess they shouldn't be in this forum.
Those bands (I do like them) maybe are influenced by hardcore but doesn't have the same spirit. I think they're far away from hardcore, but since this forum isn't focused on only traditional hardcore they still have a spot on here. |
I just post whatever I've been listening to today.
Well this is a hardcore/emo forum, so I'd think it's painstakingly obvious that they should relate to those genres. No one cares about your opinion. As for the Fall Out Boy haters: 1. I called them sincere, because they were all in hardcore bands and they are doing this because they love the music and not to make money. I've met them all a bunch of times, interviewed Pete Wentz (bassist), and they are SINCERE guys. 2. In regards to grouping them with GC and Simple Plan, you obviously don't know how to read or use your ears. FOB's new single "Sugar We're Going Down" is the worst song they have ever written. Do yourselves a favor and download some other material before you automatically call them a bad band. Pete's lyrics are heavily influenced by Wes Nightmare, and if you can't see that you obviously have reading comprehension problems. It's good to be able to back up your opinions every once in a while. 3. Finally, I don't give a f.uck what you guys call pop punk. I know what I call pop punk and I know most of it sounds **** good. So that's: Fall Out Boy, Saves The Day, Millencolin, Less Than Jake, MxPx, Green Day, etc. etc. I love those bands. |

Oh come on, I'm a Fall Out Boy fan, that is far from the worst song they've ever written. |

Sugar is so-so. Homesick At Space Camp shows some hardcore influence, but its nothing major. Its only about five seconds. Then it gets poppy.
|
Saturday is one of my favorites by them. I dont know why.

That is a catchy song. I liked their first album. It's too poppy now. |

The title of the thread is "What have you been listening to today/lately"; not: "what hardcore or emo bands have you been listening to today/lately." Most of us, were completely uneducated about hardcore a few years ago, and there's no reason to be an elitist about it. |
In some cases a few months ago.
|
You guys have been into hardcore for only a few weeks? Months?
|
Yes, Andrew and I were referring to ourselves.
|
I see.
