It was for a video game or something crazy like that. I really don't like that song.

lpsoxfan88 07-03-2005 10:13 PM

It's crazy how much they've changed from Answer That to Sing the Sorrow. But, I don't care if the new stuff's not punk enough or too "emo" for you guys - it kicks ***, and they're really good at it.

don't think so. it was a one shot deal, it's been out for a while.

or maybe it did, but you don't know because you suck and can't unlock the SUPER SECRET AFI LEVEL. in that level, all the houses are black and it rains all the time. :p

thats weird.i have completed GTA san andreas 100% and theres no AFI level  wait all the houses are black? keeps raining? that sounds familar.......

Does anyone know how old Davey Havok was when AFI recorded Answer that and stay Fashionable..? i think that Hunter is the oldest member of the band, but he only turned 29 a couple of months ago...hmmmm dont know....

he was no older than 23. i would guess between 21 and 23.

El_Shiznit 07-05-2005 11:01 AM

This can be solved using simple mathematics. (or at least be close)

In "...But Home Is Nowhere" Davey says that he is 26 years old. That was released in early 2003. Which means he probably wrote those words sometime in 2002. Answer That And Stay Fashionable was first released in August 1995. So it was most likely 1995 for the recording of that album.

So if he was 26 in '02, in '95 he had to have been around 18 or 19 during the Answer That And Stay Fashionable recording process.

cheeser_1 07-05-2005 01:33 PM

He was in high school in 1991, the year i usually see as when they "started" the band, which to me means more like 17-18. Which is where my estimate comes from. If we drop high school age down a bit to 16 or so, 19ish sounds reasonable.

maco 07-05-2005 07:51 PM

I have an answer:
Davey's birthday is November 20, 1975
Jade's is November 28, 1973
Adam's is February 5, 1975
Hunter's is May 14, 1976

Hunter's the youngest, and Jade is the oldest.

not that i don't believe you, but source(s)?

and for the record, that fits the 19 year old estimate perfectly.

maco 07-05-2005 07:53 PM
so what do you reckon will happen to all these other songs that they dont use? a b-sides album(s) maybe? or even maybe a box set... i hope that they dont go to waste...that would be a shame... i would also like to see a AFI dvd released, that would be awesome...
They do go to waste, just like over 80 songs will for the next album. They topped 100 in January and only about 15 will be released publicly.

maco 07-05-2005 07:53 PM
They've written over 50 songs, apparently. They will all choose their favourites and put about 15 on the new cd.

Old....they said 80 in November or December and I think they said 100 in January

maco 07-05-2005 07:55 PM
Anyone been on their website recently? I just was on there and there is a new song as background music. The name is head like a hole and it is very industrial sounding. Go to it and listen.
And apparently you didn't notice that the site is cracking to reveal the new one when the next album comes out?

Does "common knowledge" count? Any in-depth bio of them will tell you it. Obsessive fans can tell you it. There was a lot of debate as to Hunter's year though. I asked on the Hunter Revenge messageboard, and he said it's 1976.

wwb27 07-05-2005 08:17 PM

this band is amzing although they used to be better

blacklantern 07-06-2005 03:02 AM

I hate sing the sorrow. I like Very Proud Of Ya and Answer That and Stay Fashionable. Cereal Wars and Cruise Control are good songs. Jade Puget is the man.

True. When you think supidity has come to its top, someone surprises you.
