slayer is dominatory.....no the highest level musicianship with Kerry King's "wanking" on the guitar but definitely balls to the wall. as for favorite songs.....hmm. war ensemble, angel of death, south oh heaven

What did everybody think of still raning DVD? I loved it on the extra tracks that they had, it was gross during necrophillac at the beggining Tom Araya says "says this song is about older women, real old women the kind that are 6 feet under" lol then hes like you know what I like about dead women is eating them out you can feel the maggots crunching in you mouth, lol when I heard it it grossed me out.

But any ways I though still raning was pretty awesome when they had the blood poor down on them Tom looked awesome his Bass was totaly soaked, it was funny when he was headbanging though.

whatduffhuck7 03-27-2005 08:35 PM

Nostalgia 03-27-2005 08:39 PM

Bloodline, Dead Skin Mask( I find it interesting that it is about the serial killer Ed Gein, and how he wore his victims skin over his face and drove from state to state)...
Raining Blood, War Ensemble...

ThrashHead 03-27-2005 09:39 PM

Fav. Song is At Dawn They Sleep. Saw them in concert last December.. man it was crazy... I was probably two people away from the stage the whole concert. AWESOME!

http://www.mengele.dk/ - all about our little angel of death
Auschwitz, the meaning of pain
The why that I want you to die
Slow death, immense decay
Showers that cleanse you of your life
Forced in
Like cattle
You run
Stripped of
Your life's worth
Human mice, for the Angel of Death
Four hundred thousand more to die
Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Sadistic, surgeon of demise
Sadist of the noblest blood

Destroying, without mercy
To benefit the Aryan race

Surgery, with no anesthesia
Fell the knife pierce you intensely
Inferior, no use to mankind
Strapped down screaming out to die
Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of Death

Pumped with fluid, inside your brain
Pressure in your skull begins pushing through your eyes
Burning flesh, drips away
Test of heat burns your skin, your mind starts to boil
Frigid cold, cracks your limbs
How long can you last
In this frozen water burial?
Sewn together, joining heads
Just a matter of time
'Til you rip yourselves apart
Millions laid out in their
Crowded tombs
Sickening ways to achieve
The holocaust
Seas of blood, bury life
Smell your death as it burns
Deep inside of you
Abacinate, eyes that bleed
Praying for the end of
Your wide awake nightmare
Wings of pain, reach out for you
His face of death staring down,
Your blood running cold
Injecting cells, dying eyes
Feeding on the screams of
The mutants he's creating
Pathetic harmless victims
Left to die
Rancid Angel of Death
Flying free

Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of Death

Angel of Death

Even though though lyrics/ meaning is pretty gruesome Hannemann is still a underated writer IMO.

Nostalgia 03-27-2005 10:03 PM

Oh my god I just read that link, ahh thats gross you could see those kids ribs through there skin, I didn't know he was the angel of death, I thought they were talking about Hitler.

supra_speed 03-27-2005 10:14 PM

ROFL. Hitler is pathetic.

zeppa 03-27-2005 11:59 PM
ROFL. Hitler is pathetic.
he was a strange man. i enjoy reading about him though

vashts80 03-28-2005 12:20 AM

I'm doing a report on Mengele for science, about the different experiments and **** he did and how it benefited mankind at the same time as killing mankind...I might tie in Angel of Death.

Hanneman's stuff is more memorable than King's, IMO. Also, notice how when Tom started writing the lyrics with Jeff instead of Kerry and Jeff, the writing became more "intelligent".

ThrashHead 03-28-2005 12:20 AM

Hitler was a bad man.. but I think he was rather smart. But back to the topic. I think maybe the mods should make an official Slayer thread. I mean I've seen two others.. and all lasted a good amount of time. So maybe?

EDIT-

True. I have the War at the Warfield DVD.. and songs like Dittohead and New Faith.. songs I don't like in perticular.. they're written by King. King isn't a good lyricist.

That site...I have to say, was very disturbing. Haven't seen anything that graphic...

Nostalgia 03-28-2005 12:57 AM

^^ Yea that was pretty gruesome, I'm glad I saw it though, before I was just thinking of auschwits a concentration camp but never really realized the expeirements like the twin study and seeing if a human female could mate with a gorrila and the decapating the bodys to do studys. It gets quite gross after you see alot of it

Nostalgia 03-28-2005 01:02 AM

I know slayer have been accused of being nazis and such but have denied any case of it, and I still don't beleive they are but what about jeff hannemann wearing a swastica on his slayer jacket or something like that, does anybody know anything about that.

Good thing I didn't see all of it. Otherwise, I'd be having nightmares...

Yeah I think he wore an Iron cross on his leather jacket around the South of Heaven era, I think if you go on on Slayerized.com there are pictures of him wearing it ;) Jeff's not a nazi but he's got or did have a huge interest in the nazis and World War II, which included him collecting medals. Another argument against him being a nazi is that his dad fought them in WWII, he was on Omaha beach I believe.

Thats why you dont look at things u might freak over.
OMG OMG 213 post. w00t

Robfo 03-28-2005 05:57 AM

Slayer are one of my fave bands atm.

To me Reign In Blood is a good album but nowhere near as good as Seasons. Some of the riffs in that album are mint but i prefer the solos in Reign In Blood.

I wasn't freaking out, I was just disturbed by it. I wasn't too sure of what I would be seeing.

whatduffhuck7 03-28-2005 11:05 AM

i took a class about the holocuast. those pictures are nothing compared to the ones they have at the holocaust museum here in michigan.

ToRidTheDisease 03-28-2005 11:40 AM

Yeah, those pics are quite tame.

^ I know I went to a wax mueseum a while ago, they had some sick stuff like they had a pendalum, where they made them lay down in a box/coffin and they would sway a long knife sort of thing until it cut them in half

But anyways, back to slayer well I'v heard most slayer albums and my favorite is reign in blood, I'v heard I don't know if this is true or not but is divine intervention just as heavy and thrashy as reign in blood, I'v heard they are quite close.

What did everone think of seasons in the abyss, I beleive it was slayer biggest money maker is this correct?

vashts80 03-28-2005 12:13 PM

Seasons, IMO, is the "Metallica" of Slayer. Not that that's bad, mind, because it still pwns (War Ensemble, DSM and SITA, anybody?), but it kind-of got more accessable IMO.

Divine Intervention is an awesome album imo, doesn't match the greatness of Reign but it's still very thrashy and in places heavy. Favourite tracks from it are Killing Fields, Circle of Beliefs, SS-3 (which is about Adolf Eichmann, some high ranking nazi who was assassinated in Prague if I'm not not mistaken ;) )

isn't dead skin mask a song reguarding ed gein?
