Zefferon 11-07-2004 07:15 PM
it was album filler, they've admitted it and were amazed by how popular the name was. hell, the record company changed the albums name without telling the band, it was originally called war pigs. which is evidently what is on the cover of the album
Yes, I already knew all that when I wrote the comment. It was ment as a "it was written as filler, it sounds like filler, and it feels like filler" sort of thing.

Cool, I know how to use the ctrl and c keys too, but how many of those do you know off by heart?

ToRidTheDisease 11-07-2004 08:52 PM

I could name all but a few, not the exact timeline though.

ToRidTheDisease 11-07-2004 08:53 PM

And BTW I didn't C&P it, I had to type it because the source i got it from was all weird and messed up.

the_zeppelin_volta 11-07-2004 09:31 PM

playing sabbath on guitar is really easy i've noticed, but it's fun.
it mostly owerchords, slow riffs and soloing which is better doing an improvization
cuz if you listen very well most of iommi's solos are just improvized

heinrichkuhn 11-07-2004 10:49 PM

I haven't actually listened to anything off Technical Ecstasy or Never Say Die before. What are the songs like compared with say tracks off Paranoid and Volume 4?

shadow_stalker 11-08-2004 07:18 AM
I mean any ozzy or sabbath songs.
just checking

they sound like they are but they are not, he works them all out before a live show rather than playing anything that goes with it, its still improvised but not on the spot improvised (if you catch what im saying)
I haven't actually listened to anything off Technical Ecstasy or Never Say Die before. What are the songs like compared with say tracks off Paranoid and Volume 4?
They're alot different to Paranoid, kinda less heavy and in my opinion, alot better. Lyric-wise, they're almost on the same level as Vol.4

And if I'm right, every person whose played in Black Sabbath, is still alive.

Brew 11-08-2004 12:41 PM

And on the topic of line-ups, there have been roughly 30 different Black Sabbath line-ups over the past 30 years.

shadow_stalker 11-08-2004 12:45 PM
And if I'm right, every person whose played in Black Sabbath, is still alive.
even though most of them should have died from drug abuse, alchoholism (is that a real word) and various other things

Brew 11-08-2004 12:53 PM

Ozzy should have died in 1980.
Bill Ward should have died in the mid-80's or after his heart attack.

They're like....invincible.

shadow_stalker 11-08-2004 01:11 PM

that is useful to know maybe they could take over the world

has tony ever had anything like a heart attack?

Brew 11-08-2004 02:06 PM

Nope, to my knowledge Tony is fit as a fiddle.

So..I just heard a cover of Solitude by Cathedral, and they didn't ruin it too much. The music is pretty much the same and the vocals are a bit less mellow than Ozzy's, and in some parts it sounds like they're playing his voice in the background. But overall its a good cover :thumb:

RideTheTiger 11-08-2004 02:21 PM

Sweet leaf is my favorite sabbath song :D Easy to play on bass and still cool

Brew 11-08-2004 02:26 PM

I learnt Sabbra Cadabra on bass yesterday, its pretty cool and fun to play, there's loads of space at the end to improvise :)

CJR 11-08-2004 02:30 PM

If your gonna post your thoughts, at least explain why you think they rock.

JACKROXYOU 11-08-2004 03:25 PM

Thanks for that LaihoRocker666
