Can someone recommend me a the best Coheed & Cambria album to start with. Preferably the one that is the most progressive sounding. I've managed to find Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV,, The Second Stage Turbine Blade and In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth on my network, so one of those would be preferable.

Thanks.

BridgeToSolace 10-30-2005 01:02 AM

The best Coheed And Cambria album is actually by a band called Monday In London.

It's called "The Red Machine"

Look for it.

rbv 10-30-2005 02:48 AM

For the most accessible go with Silent Earth. The best is Good Apollo

TakeWarning 10-30-2005 03:39 AM

Can someone recommend me some Power-Pop, a bit like The Matches?

dUSK 10-30-2005 04:28 AM

I'm looking to get into more music that sound vocally along the lines of As I Lay Dying. So if you guys could post some bands like that it would be cool.

Ok cool thanks for the recommendations, only I have to go, so I'll check them out later.

/adds FBTMOF/Misery Signals to list

EDIT: Haste The Day is amazing, they are so good. Thank you for that, I remember Brian posted them a while back, I saved all the links he gave and they were under there, so thanks for the reminder :thumb:

Dinosawesome 11-01-2005 09:15 PM

This Providence
A band from Seattle, This providence blends catchy pop-punk lyrics with melodies that'll stick in your head for days at a time. Although they're sound leans a little towards Christian Rock the band insists that, although they are religious, that their chosen religion has no influence upon their music. I suggest you check out all their Purevolume tunes, they're rocking.

BridgeToSolace 11-01-2005 10:28 PM

"Our Worlds Divorce" or whatever that album is called has some nifty songs on it ^

Try listening to any System of a Down album, as they are great. Everyone knows BYOB. Their songs are heavy, but incredibly catchy. Also, Alkaline Trio are a really good pop-punk. Catchy lyrics and songs, just so good :)

BTBAM
Into The Moat
Throwdown
Bury Your Dead
Breakdown-full hardcore: Black My Heart, Seventh Star, Let It Die, In Due Time, Full Blown Chaos.
KSE
Eh, I don't really listen to killswitch. I hear Shadows Fall is similar, though. The current singer of KSE used to be in a band called Blood Has Been Shed...check 'em out.
A7X
The Showdown, Summer's End, Circle Of Sidelights.
Atreyu
Autumn Burns Red (their screamers sound similar, at least).
ETID
People say that Fight Paris sound really similar to ETID. I don't listen to either; I don't know.
Misery Signals
The guitarists (maybe bassist and drummer too, I dunna) used to be in a band called 7 Angels 7 Plagues. The screamer used to be in a band called Compromise.

Jon bringing the knowledge as usual although it's August Burns Red and they one of the worst bands I have ever heard.

I've never heard much of the Matches so I can't help you really. If you want just pop-punk though try Spitalfeild, Cartel, Northstar, Halifax, My Awesome Compilation, and Gatsbys American Dream. If you've heard any already, or it isn't what you want the I apologize.

Thankyou, my good man.

Someone reccommend me a Black Flag album please. While you're at it, anything that you think is really good that I might not have heard before would be nice as well.
